Hello do u know if studnets who graduate in Dec 2023 has to take this new version on April? Because we had no experiencing on this new format. I heard those only who started nursing school in 2021 - 2022 en so will be taking this. Any idea?
I feel that! I'm supposed to test in two weeks, but I think I might just see about rescheudling after the first of April. Are we definitely going to be eligible to take the NGN? I'm trying to figure this out now!
Just passed my NCLEX today in 75 and got to try the new question types when I finished. I actually really liked them! I also LOVE that they’re giving partial marks for SATA. My exam had a LOT of SATA and it was so scary that I miss one or add one too many I’d lose the entire question. My boyfriend is taking the new NCLEX next year and I’m very happy with the changes I’ve seen so far!
Nursing school taught me to re-learn how I learn. Memorizing facts and values was what constituted much of my studying habits since elementary school up until high school graduation. Still learning how to effectively study to make it through nursing school. Critical thinking is my weakest point. Hope to get better at it for the NGN.
I graduated and passed my NCLEX in the 2017. I wish we had partial scoring instead of all or nothing. Also, we had up to 265 questions. Best of luck to the students taking it!
I am so glad I graduate December 2022! ATI has been putting in NGN questions in our proctored exams and they are dreadful.. they increase the anxiety x 100 because you have to slow down to a snails pace to do these questions. ADVICE: Take your time when answering!!!
Sarah I just started nursing school. 5 weeks ago. My program has been a little disorganized. Your videos have been a lifesaver. Thank you for having these videos and quizzes and tools available.
Wow, your program is disorganized? Thought it was only my nursing program that was disorganized. This must be rampant in the US nursing schools. Guess they want to get us ready for the chaos and disorganization on the nursing units in the facilities!!!
Passed my NCLEX on 9/3/22 in 75 which I though I failed because I could never.. I had about 30 select all questions I my first 40 questions. Keep pushing guys and I definitely want to say thank you so much for making these videos you helping so many of us!!! Subscribed with noti’s forever 😊
I took the original Nclex and in the example question here about stroke I can see a positive benefit actually because it brings up a topic you will actually be seeing. What is frightening is if they pick some esoteric rare disease that you never saw or heard of during clinicals or lecture. Also glad to see they are doing partial points. Good luck to all taking the next gen exam!!
Thank you Nurse Sarah for helping me a lot through your videos. I'll be taking my NCLEX RN exams soon and hopefully pass with flying colors. I am really looking forward to applying all the knowledge I have and helping those in need.
I graduate in May 2023 and am incredibly nervous to be one of the first taking the exam. My program unfortunately isn’t testing us with case studies and the new testing methods so it’s scary, thank you for sharing this information. If you have any study material resources it would be much appreciated!
I passed my NCLEX on the 8th.. I was nervous wreck! At 75 questions it stopped and then asked me about a scientific study (I asked) which I didn't do because I was still a nervous wreck and I wanted it to be over with. I did pass my first time at 75 questions and I had alot of SATA questions and I thank my teachers for pushing this on us! My program did have alot of case studies during labs and holidays we had off. We also did shadow health that had scenarios along with real life clinicals all year long. I guess I'm lucky that I was somewhat prepared for the next gen even though I didn't really know I was being prepared at the sametime.
Anyone who took the LPN NCLEX within the past year was able to see these optional questions after their exam. So, LPNs should have a good idea of what to expect for their RN NCLEX. 👩⚕ Also, if your school uses ATI, you will also be familiar with the content. 📖
thank you for this! I watched a few other videos about NGN and they continued to say take it ASAP so we don't have to take the new one.. it made me so anxious because I failed my first attempt mid February so I have no choice but to take the new version. Your content helped me a lot through nursing school! Nursing students adore you
Thank you for the videos I've just passed my NCLEX and your tutorials are a great help for my preparation. I am from Philippines if ever you have intention to visit our country for vacation I will be more than happy to be ur guide Thank you for ur videos
Thank you Nurse Sara! I am a spring 2023 graduate and will be taking the New Gen NCLEX very soon! I appreciate your advice about not stressing so much about the case studies ... I needed to hear that!
These incoming nurses will be advanced in critical thinking abilities. NCSBN is continuously improving nursing. On the other hand, NCLEX will be “hard”
After my 75 questions, I answered 25 new gen questions and thy were very long and difficult. Time is not enough to answer. 5 categories and read and forget, forth and back. I failed it. I am scared to take a new gen. Thanks
It's a lot of work for the teachers too to help students prepare. You know more than you think also, it's not meant to be scary. My nclex had the case studies when they were piloting them and they didn't score them. It was really cut and dry.
Thank you for this video it’s very helpful. I graduate in 2025 and my goal is to become an icu nurse, I’m nervous about this new nclex, a lot of people have said that it seems harder.
I think it is going to be overall more difficult because nursing students are expected to be in critical care regardless of the specialty they want to do.
Hello, thank you for the update. I am a Zambian trained Nurse Midwife and your channel helped me pass my final exams. Currently practicing in my country, however, my dream is to practice overseas. Please advise the routes and process for registration as a Nurse in US further advise how I can order NUCLEX study books please
They should have given those lab values in the test a long time ago. On the floor they are literally listed for you and tell you whether they're high or not, it was assanine to make everyone memorize them with all of the other millions of things we have to memorize
Last year I was in LA and now I‘d like to move to LA to work there as RN, but that is sooo difficult to do it from Germany and I can‘t find nobody who helps me!
I am glad that in Philippines, they've been using the same type of exams during school days and the national nursing licensure exam as well which has 500 exam questions to answer. Good thing in this NGN, you still get points in all selected answers.
Just started an Accelerated Nursing Program last week. I’m supposed to graduate in December and take the NCLEX next year. Oh boy, I guess we’re the Guinea pigs. Definitely talking to my profs next week.
I have a diploma in clinical nursing whith six years experience currently practicing in Africa could i took NCLEX exam to become RN ? If yes how long i takes me to prepare for it ?
I think this is better because it test competence. Some people are good at memorizing but when they get into the field they are lost and can’t think critically. I think it gives people with street smarts a leg up haha
I heard only nursing students that began nursing school in or after fall 2021 will be tested on this new version. Is this true? So the ones that graduated before that won't be tested with the new version?
Can anyone suggest please????? It is good to write new gen exam in April or its better to write the old version I mean in March??? I am planning to write my exam. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
So I graduated fall 2021 and failed it twice now and about to take my third hopefully by this year, but am I able to take the next gen too? I heard those are only for people who will start nursing school on fall 2021?
