Imagine if they tried to make the next Beetle into "people's car" instead - ditch the luxury gadgets and make a basic affordable electric car for ordinary working people.

Volkswagen discontinue the beetle in 2019 and they made it very clear. It was not gonna be making a comeback. The EV market has slowed down considerably. A lot of companies are pulling back on EV or starting new ones because of the problems with them. They can’t take the cold. They can’t take the heat and sometimes it’s very hard to charge them if you don’t have a house with a garage.

Good. But it should have the 1988, four cylinder boxer 220kW, mounted at the back. Like it's Cayman cousin. Or else it will probably disappear in less than a decade. At a stage VW (Piëch) wanted to buy Alfa Romeo. (To share the 4 cylinder boxer with Alfa, to have more applications... ) So we had a "New Beetle", with an engine in the wrong place. - Discontinued. (In effect the New Beetle was a less effective Golf, behind the facade of Beetle nostalgia.) It could have been a genuine "Old Beetle" successor, but they rather tried to share that 4-boxer with Alfa... (maybe the timing of events and ownership.... ? ) Anyway, Now can/could have been the Moment. Let's Make the BEETLE great again! 😁 Thanks, for this video.

VW CEO said in 2019 there wont be a beetle anymore... and besides that nobody cares about sjitty EV's... the reason the CEO said this is because the interest of hatchbacks/small cars are insanly low because everybody wants bigger cars.

A lot of the 2018 and newer VW Bugs have already been sent to the junkyard. They’re mechanically terrible. So I’m curious: If you drop a new VW body onto an old VW frame, does the car title as a new VW style or an old VW style? How about the other way around? What if you put a new VW body on an old Miata? Can the resulting hybrid be titled as a kit-car in California? What’s the name of the guy who runs the CA Title program? What’s his phone number? What’s the name of his boss? What’s his phone number? Most important: If you ask a CA official for an answer before you modify your car, is he legally obligated to give a clear answer in writing? What’s the name of the guy at the Department of Justice who’s in charge of the government’s obligation to communicate with citizens? What’s his phone number? Who’s his boss? What’s his phone number?
