Gents, take it like it is. He shouldn't be talking about other clubs, regardless if he decides to go next season, as he is commited to a fight that hasn't finished yet in the Portuguese League. This should just show you the kind of a professional he is. Although I'd love for him to stay and I still have a tiny bit of hope left, I couldn't be happier if he does go to a club I appreciate so much for their passionate fan base. I will always follow this man wherever he goes as he made me enjoy football again. You will see this man, although still has a lot to learn, is the best choice for a long term project. He is a leader, in and out of the pitch.

Definitely different than Alonso. Alonso came out and said he’s staying where he is, Amorim has never said that.

I think our very reliable good friend DKB should analyze the following post match Gil Vicente comments of Ruben Amorim: "I feel that my cycle at Sporting Clube de Portugal has not yet ended. A cycle has not yet ended and that depends on the characteristics of each one and on each other’s lives. I think all coaches have their own timing and it has nothing to do with [interest] of clubs, but how the coaches feel. I’m speaking generally and not about my situation. I don’t feel like I’ve finished a cycle, I feel like I want to keep going so this isn’t over yet, we want to win and keep moving forward."

I feel that you’re spot on in your thoughts. It all makes sense. Sometimes these journalists who get a whiff of info, they don’t know when to hold it and just be aware, use the info at a later time as part of a more interesting “reveal” or story. It’s all now a case of being FIRST to reveal any ounce of info to show how credible they are. Seems like desperation all the time. Love to hear your angle on things, always well thought out.

First rule of life: Never, EVER accept a verbal agreement, no matter how good your relationship is with the other person. Always make sure your agreement is in writing otherwise you're always vulnerable to getting screwed over.

If Ruben Amorim do indeed wants to join Liverpool then along with his agent will push the Sporting President to allow him to join Liverpool. He even has the option to step down as Sporting manager by his own.

If Liverpool want Amorim they will pay his release clause in my opinion. It sounds like Pedro has been given an exclusive but he hasn't handled it well as far as going the right way in making it public.

Obviously if LFC want him they'll pay the price whatever it is (but'd prefer the budgie price, cheep!). I think the problem comes with an annoyed Sporting president when Liverpool allegedly come raiding. Its alleged we want 3 players from them (understandable, as Amorim will only have a month with the LFC squad, be good have some in that style aready). I well think Sporting could tell us get bent, look drive price up prohibitavely.

I had the winner Dink I went mad and put £1.25 E/W and got £13.00 back Just shows you Utd pull it back to 2-2 from a pen, today against Bournemouth, but with us it's their Cup final and they have had some great results against us mate, Moan over. I been thinking about this. Is it out of the realms of possibility Sporting have been behind the leaks to the parrot all this time? Everybody and their dog knows we are after replacing Jurgen with Ruben. If it's out there and so wildly expected to happen surely that puts Sporting in the driving seat in negotiations. Well assuming they're resigned to losing him that is. If we don't get our man with it being so expected and wanted, we're gonna look really silly settling for 3rd best, at least, and that ain't goin' to please the fan base one iota. Imagine the FSG outers if that happens....... Could be a hell of a move from Sporting from the get go........🤔

these people aren't mugs. the big cheese is obviously aware that talks would be happening. the noise has pissed liverpool off and now its pissing him off because the public impression on him and the club could be going down. already irritated fans could start voicing their own disappointment "anyone can just leave all they have to do is have their agents talk and undermine the club because we're weak" all shit like this that nobody involved in the deal needs. so further player sales could just ruin the mood of a club that even in the summer transfer window are league champions. not needed at all for Sporting. I wonder if LFC offered to pay for a hit on the parrot would the verbal agreement stand 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I firmly believe this is Rubens shot at the big time. You could almost guarantee Alonso will get a choice of clubs after Leverkusen, Amorim post Sporting, maybe not. I just can't see the lad turning us down. All the parrot is doing is tryin' to raise his profile without considering the ramifications of his reporting on such a high profile situation. When has that stopped any of them though eh? He firmly believes he's just doing his job I'm sure. Agree completely that we need to keep Sporting sweet at this point. Really don't want to make things more difficult than they already may be. I guess I have to put my faith in FSG and their considerable business acumen to get this deal done.
