hey guys....Sorry I haven't written anything else for ya'll since the Bright review but I got crazy busy this year as I work at a school, run multiple D&D games per week and I'm training for my black belt so..... No worries if you wanna boot me I understand. btw: I CANT WAIT for this book! I've run the adventures in the 2e planescape blood war box set multiple times over the years and this looks like something that is right up my alley. I'm pretty stoked!

I have never gone over the SCAG, though it’s on my list to pick up, but anyway I am wondering if the abyssal tiefling is a reference to Graz’zt since he use to be an arch devil, but was usurped by the other demon lords, and became the dark prince of the abyss. Just thoughts. I wish I had waited to preorder through your link to help support the channel, but I already pre-ordered :( I will be on the lookout for the next release though!

I think Mordenkanen's targets DMs and Players because the wars are arguably more interesting than the monster lairs especially if you play a character that should know about this(Like a bard with expertise in history). The monster lairs in Volos could work well if you are playing the Blood Hunter or something.

Hello nerdarchy Community I am sending out an SOS for I am dming For the First Time 1 week from now the players and I have talked and we want to do a space slash horror game think alien isolation I am a brand new DM and have no idea what I'm doing any advice would be appreciated

I have to wait and see. AM still getting into the DM thing so far not far sure how far I will go on buying a book till I see what it gives. It is so hard being disabled because our money is limited and with the digital play it is easier to DM online and be able to have fun with people from the bed then it is to go 8 hours in pain. That means though I have to buy a digital copy and then get a hardcover copy if am getting into.

More dnd books, awesome

The books are totally duel design, because although consumers find it dumb, that's good for business. Plenty of books already are both DM/Player feeders for maximum sales. Sadly there is too much fluff and rehash for me. Create and finish, stop splattering follow up alternative generic info Wizards (Cough XgtE, SCAG). Give us some realms, complete Fey or adventuring in the Nine and beyond the elemental plains. I don't like playing most melee classes so stop filling fluff books with a bit of this and that. Go 2E style and make a fighter book, and a wizards book, and . . so I don't have to buy things I will never build or play. In my little world anyway. . . Great video Gentlemen!

I actually preordered this a few days ago, maybe just more than a week, might have been the first day the preorder was available...I'm not sure. Point is, I got mine.haha I love these non-campaign suplimemt books, just extra stuff to expand my universe as a DM. Also as one who is not all that familiar with older D&D lore, these books help sort of get me up to speed without having to rely on either finding particular articles or reading tons of old books that I just don't have time for. In addition, when these books come out it prompts me to look up names I don't recognize and it often leads to me learning a whole bunch of stuff that I wouldn't otherwise have been aware of. I do use some of the unearthed arcana stuff as well but I like having the book in front of me. Loved this video, guys! And Ted, diggin that shirt, man! You guys should open an online store featuring all of Dave and Ted's shirts. 😂

this looks promising. Ok guys I'm taking a crash course into 5E and I cant seem to find "Fury of the Small" for goblins in Volos Guide. so where the hell is it hiding? And the meta Magic Feats. lol, So lost.

Asmodeus his a full god in 5e but since they forced the cosmos back into the great wheel shape that means the blood war restarted agaisnt Asmodeus' wishes. Azuth (the god he ate) is back as well but weaker and asmodeus still retains his godhood. Yet he isent as strong as before when Mystra was dead and Azuth was in his belly. He is actually opening legitimate churches and being honest to sinners to get them to join and that is a first among fiends turned gods, not even Orcus had legitimate churches. so his power is probably growing again fairly steadily due to worship.

I'm still on fence about this getting this book. Maybe future reveals from WOTC will sway me...

There is a good mindflayer early in The Out of the Abyss official adventure. Orcus is also in the back of the book.

Its a new monster book, I'd imagine that it's going to be a great read! At the very least its going to be useful. Totally agree that volos was better than xanathars just because the freaking writing.

Of course they would make a monster section focussing on high CRs. They knew I was working on the same.

I am with Ted. Anything that gives me more creatures and lore to work with is something I am excited about.

The beast races in Volo's didn't get just 2 pages, they got the entire first section of the book dedicated to them.

as you said they rarely put out new books and I don't know why. I don't hate homebrewed things or other games books, but the problem is when wanting to stay with balance in the game the other non-WotC D&D books will never truly be well balanced. I have purchased several non-WotC books and they are good, but it is hard to bring stuff into the game especially when I am not a DM, but mostly it is because we are playing on FG and want to use what is there. I don't have all D&D books because I will not buy the hardback "modules" because I would rather the "Straud" book would have been a Ravenloft campaign setting book. I own a lot of the 3.5 books. Actually, I could say I have almost every one of them, but I want settings books over modules or adventure books. Also, it is funny that you mention the Teifling because I was wanting to do a demon option. mainly I want to make a drow Teifling type, but not a Draegloth because they are too strong for PCs.

I have a good mind flayer in my campaign! Compared to the gith anyway....

Interesting video. I like the idea of people turning into some kind of fey changelings if they spend too much time in the Feywild or eat and drink the food and water there. Maybe even animals and plants transported there start to become sapient and start talking.

I wish it was a setting book, this is probably the most pointless book they will put out (although I will still be buying it). Anything in the book lore-wise can be found on a decent youtube channel or 2. Or its already in the Monster manual, and although I think its great that they are helping players understand the races they can play, they aren't doing it with all the races, so wtf. I really wished it was gonna have setting information for Eberron or Dark Sun, or Greyhawk all these great settings that new players like myself, have only heard stories of. People talk about Dark Sun all the time especially on Nerdarchy, and yet no official support for it. Artificer needed an official version released. Some would also say that Mystic needs an official release. I think mystic can get fucked any class that does literally what other classes do, except better is stupid, why not everyone just play mystic, same problem that Lore Mastery Wizard had. Glad High level play is getting some love, but third party publishers already have that covered because WotC took so long to support it. Tome of Beasts by Kobold Presses is amazing and has fueled my first homebrew setting and campaign. Sorry, I had to rant to no one who cares :O
