Hi, you can read our full review of the 222 here: kit.honestjohn.co.uk/reviews/review-nextbase-222-dash-cam/ It's reasonably priced, sitting at around £54 on Halfords and Amazon at the moment. It's not feature-packed, but it does offer very clear footage and a reputable brand name so quality shouldn't be an issue. The other dash cam we'd recommend considering is the YI Smart. It's slightly cheaper and, again, doesn't offer lots of features but the footage resolution is very good. The full review - including sample footage - for that one is here: kit.honestjohn.co.uk/reviews/review-yi-smart-dash-cam/
It records in 3 or 5 minute loops if you want to save some dodgy driving touch the red line on the bottom and it will lock the footage so it never gets overwritten until you delete it manually. You can change the length of the recording loops in the dash cam menu. When you sync your Micro SD to your laptop it will open in two folder, Protected and Video. Video will simply be written over once your Micro SD has reached capacity.
@@skimmingstoness Can the short video clips be joined using the Nextbase App? I see a lot of longer videos (of a journey), presumably they are short clips joined up?
@@skimmingstoness Good to know. I bought the 222X, the additional rear view camera is more important to me than the bells and whistles on the higher spec cameras (GPS, WiFi, Alexa). The rear view works well, resolution not as good as the forward camera, and the rear view might get blocked by the sun visor when lowered (dependant on vehicle). Saves separate F & R files to SD card.
The 322GW and 222 have the same footage resolution (1080p HD @ 30fps or 720p @ 60fps ), so if that's all you care about then it makes more sense to get the cheaper 222 model. As the GW signifies, the 322GW offers GPS (helpful for insurers in settling a claim) and WiFi, as well as Bluetooth, Emergency Response and module compatibility with the rear cameras.
