All I have to say is that I wish EVERY reviewer on RU-vid would make videos like this. Very nicely done!!!

For those who wants to know, this lil machine is great for gaming, not the latest AAA titles, but older gaming,I'm espxe emulator, ppsspp, visual boy, also some awsome pc games, GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Brothers in Arms Road to hill 30, Nosferatu, God of War 1 and 2, NFS Underground, Carbon, Most Wanted, Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 all runs smoothly.

I got one for Christmas and I love the fact that theres a keyboard because sometimes typing is annoying with the touch screen (for me anyways) but I also love how if your laying in bed etc. you can remove the keyboard!

Just found your review on this! I was kinda worried at first, wondering about the quality of the device. But, after watching your video and playing with a demo set up at Wal-mart I am in love with the thing. I'm shocked that it will play Minecraft with decent settings! I picked my wife one up for Christmas and I will hopefully be getting mine this coming friday. :) It's a fantastic device for it's price.

Lon, I've really enjoyed your channel. It helps an old man, somewhat, understand new technology. Being an old radio DJ, I love my audio files. Is this product compatible with Windows Media Player or some other App or program and is there an audio out port (headset)?

I took a chance on this kind of as a cheap replacement for my also cheap Acer Aspire V5 -122p Notebook. The notebook has 4gb of Ram. I have to say, despite the Aspire notebook having 4gb of Ram, a nicer keyboard and bigger screen (11.6), this Nextbook screen was much more responsive and smooth, and it performed a lot better for me, smoother and less hanging than my notebook. I'm not going to argue for that price :)

Can I use a Drawing/Graphics Tablet with it?

Lon, great review! I have the Nextbook 10.1 and was amazed to see you use the touchpad to scroll (around the 6:30 mark). How in the world did you do that? I've been trying various combinations of stroking and swiping the touchpad with no luck. Do tell!

I got one of these few days back. Regardless if I use it or not the battery needs to fully be recharged every other day. Have you seen this on yours? I'm in warranty period still want to exchange if defect on mine. Otherwise incredible product for the price. Thanks.

The 2016 version of this tablet has 2 gigs of ram and there's also 2 full-sized USB 2.0 ports on either side of the keyboard, in addition to the MicroUSB port.

I just bought one of these, they changed the design a lot since. Now has 2G of RAM and it's a clip on screen, no more magnets.

I loved your review! You certainly are fantastic at reviews. I'm trying to decide if I should purchase this or the similar RCA 10" windows tablet with detachable keyboard. I have the RCA 10" android tablet and it is fast and flawless AND it sells for 30.00 less. I am VERY pleased with the quality and performance of my RCA tablet and now desire a Windows version. I am tending toward RCA because of my experience s with both brands. Prior to purchasing the RCA I had purchased 2 Next book 10" android tablets with keyboards, one for my Granddaughter and the other for myself. They were both a VERY big disappointment. BOTH units after one week would not charge! I contacted them and sent my Granddaughters back to them and they replaced it with the same but refurbished unit. It arrived right off unable to charge. I wanted us both to have working tablets so purchex the RCA brand. Happily both of those after now 2 years are still preforming perfect. I couldn't find a review for the RCA brand and wondering how it or reforms and curious why I can't seem to find it reviewed.

Hello, So angry about how much people think RAM does in a computer, Ram can speed up your computer (only if your computer is VERY bad) but ram only helps multitasking. I could still watch a movie and watch some videos. Email some people and listen to music, I just wont be able to have a couple games loaded and expect good performance. Thanks for the review really helped. Just a question, How would skype run while watching youtube. I know I just said allot about ram but I have never actually had a laptop/PC with that low ram, So I cant take it from experience

Hey! Thanks for the review... I think you have missed some important things on your review or I was the one who missed it. Im pertaining to the battery life, how long does the battery last? Most of the time battery is the worst part of low cost computer/tables. Either the battery drains quick or just stopped storing charge. Also, is it compatible with micro hdmi to vga adapter and capable of having extended display. Gonna use it as a power point presenter on the road. Thanks!

Could you do more demanding tests like lots of multitasking on the desktop or video rendering? Light web browsing doesn't show the whole picture, it's only when you push these devices to the limit that the weaknesses show.

Hey Lon, would you do a long term review with one of these low cost windows machines? I'm curious how well it would be doing a few months from now after using it for a while, downloading stuff, updates, etc. maybe compare it to a low cost Chromebook with the same amount of time on it. Great review as always. I've in the UK and ordered one via US on ebay. I'll need to purchase a replacement power supply for UK sockets. Can't find anywhere the specs, could you say what power supply it uses please - keep up the public service!

After thinking, this is really good for the price. A $200 laptop and tablet in 1 that runs a full desktop OS. Much much much better value than the nexus 9 and iPad air 2 IMO.

He tells me that its not made to run gaming and that the box lies. It's not a quad atom processor but a dual. True? and how would you know? thanks again!

Lon, how's the battery life and is the keyboard Bluetooth or does it physically connect to the tablet via USB, etc.?

Solved my battery issue. The store demo was running when screen was closed and pc went into screen saver mode. The audio was turned down to zero so I never heard the demo running and when I would open the screen screen saver would go away so I never knew it was on in the first place.

Hey Lon. I'm looking into buying a lot cost, ultra mobile computer like this one very soon. I tried the insignia you reviewed, but unfortunately, my experience was plagued by screen flickers and a painfully short, 3 hour battery life. I was wondering if, despite the coldness, this screen seems to perform well. Also, how many hours of use do you get out of it on average. Thank you.

Thanks for the review, it was really informative. I was looking for a cheap, yet decent quality tablet/laptop to replace my old 5 year old Acer Aspire, and I plan on getting it at the end of the year sale at my Walmart. This seems like a great deal for what its worth, I could get a 64gb sd for some music and other minor stuff, I'm just going to use this to browse the web, watch videos, and use skype. and this seems perfect for that. I don't think I will be playing many games on it, though. I really like the split screen function as not many tablets seem to do that well... I like to watch movies online with friends across the world and split screening with the Skype chat beside it. Do you think the 1gb of ram is too little for doing this and other small multitasking stuff like this? Again thanks for this video, :D

a really good tablet is Winbook TW100.It has a usb 3.0 usb,hdmi,32gb,and 2gb memory.It uses an Intel Baytrail chip.I love it,and take it with me when I travel.

Lon, how would you compare this to the Winbook 10 inch tablet? I have the 7 inch Winbook and I think it's great, considering the price. Screen looks sharp and colorful and I have no problem with speed even if I'm running a few things. I'd like to know, specifically, how the screen quality compares between the Winbook and this Nextbook (have never seen it in person).

I have the Nextbook 10.1 and loved it until I got a crack in the screen. Called the manufacture, sat on hold for 30+ minutes to only be told that the mailbox was full. Finally was able to leave a message. Also emailed them. Finally, one week later received an email that they don't service the product. I have contacted local repairmen and they say a replacement won't be available for 6-8 months. Any suggestions?

Hi, I picked up the Nextbook 8" w/ Windows 8 on black friday, and i wanted to know if your Nextbook 10 tablet has, I dont know what the proper tech term is, but a "bad" or "low viewing angle"? Like, if you arent looking almost directly at it, the sides look kinda polarized or weird? Like on old PDAs or bad phones back in the day.

I agree with the color temperature of the screen. It lacks the red value out of the box...but you can calibrate the color to your own standards. Win8 has build in color calibration and if that's not enough Intel included their own software plugin for their onboard graphic chip. Overall this thing is amazing (considering the price) and replaced the use of my IPad. The screen comes pretty close in color to the IPad if calibrated right. Did anybody open this thing yet to see if ram and ssd drive is upgradeable?

Very Nice Video. I am from South Africa and am contemplating getting one. We have it here at our stores for R2599 . However laptops here range from R3000. I use an Android Tablet (Lenovo A3000) and am Happy with, however the functionality of this device and keyboard has me wondering if I should make the jump. The 8inch is only R1499 but only WIFI enabled. Is there any others similar to this design you can recommend>? An emailed response will be greatly appreciated

I bought this for my son out of the box for 2 week and it will not power up The indicator states it is fully charged. Contacting the manufacture to submit a ticket has been very challenging.

Hi Lon, I have this nextbook and the other day the screen just went black and then bleeped on for just a second and then off completely. I thought maybe the battery had died so I put it on charge. The yellow light is on so fully charged but cannot get anything on the screen. I can hear a slight bleep when I touch the screen but cannot get anything on the screen. I don't think it has 50 hours of use since purchasing. Any suggestions?

I just bought this. can I get the google play store on here? I thought I downloaded it and quite a few apps, but they all loaded on my phone instead of this tablet.... Can you offer any suggestions? Can I download android apps or am I stuck with Microsoft only :(

hey Lon, I bought this lablet a while ago and downloaded iTunes into it, and I also bought a detachable usb adapter to it so I can plug in my ipod, but every time I plug in my ipod the lablet automatically ejects it. at first I thought it was the adapter itself that was acting funny, but when I plug in my flash drive to the adapter, its fine. my saved documents on my flash drive show up perfectly well. so I just want to know if theres a solution to this issue.

I have it and you can change the color temp hue or intensity, or from cool to warm or custom or enhanced. You may have to install some updates for the intel HD vid to update the color options if there's new options which occasionally new features are added in video display settings. So far it's great, blue tooth is a champ, I wish it had usb 3.0 being it were newer, because just yea... and sorry but this has 2GB DDR3L ram. The other NextBook Flex's only have 1gb ddr3 ram so the 10.1 screen also really does great with responsiveness, I would love to get me a mouse soon and get a pen thing to be dead on with hitting the touch screen since i've got big fingers and i need lotion because i can't stand dry hands. But yea, maybe your color is bleeding due to the unit itself being mine looks great and runs great. to be as underclocked vs the hard core cpus it is really impressingly nice to be able to have it function and have 8 google chrome windows open plus internet explorer and surprised the resources on the device didn't mega lag and opt for needing to clear some space. But yea, I like the cloud thing, i'm new with tablets/smart phones so i'll have to adjust but I build and fix pcs as a hobby and am well aware when i see a good device for the price, if u get it at walmart the 3 year warranty only costed me $18.00 extra dollars and i still can take it back to replace it or get a refund but for now i'm greatly happy so i can play games and look up stuff without having to get up and go in to my pc room and look something up and come back to my living room to continue playing my console game. but yea, I recommend this due to the two usb devices which you can branch with a usb adapter hub for 4 to 6 extra, I am using a 64gb cache usb stick and just remember it has TWO 2 TWO GB of DDR3L ram, not 1. As I said the other devices even the newer versions of this nextbook flex 11 and such still only have 1gb ddr3 memory but have 64gb internal flash storage. But I can plug in an external hard drive and use cloud and the memory stick for more space so yea, and the mini hdmi is like nearly $50.00 at walmart, i'll shop for one else where so i can get my desktop ran to my tablet to use it as a display so I can use my pc power instead of the tablet itself. happy shopping, this is great for ur children for school and ppl wanting to read/browse internet/watch movies/stream/etc. Just not enhanced gaming, inwhich case I don't need it for.
