After 55 years of playing I’ve found that I’m going to wind up sounding like me no matter what horn, reed or mouthpiece combo. So in my later years it’s all about comfort.
Very informative video. Nice to see Texans are still making great music. I grew up in the Houston area (Baytown). I have been on a journey to regain my skills. I gave it up for several years. Now I'm just trying to enjoy myself.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you like the video. I have a streaming concert tomorrow night on RU-vid. You can find it at Monks Jazz with this link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i08109yCQCA.html

It’s been several months since this video. How has it held up? Still like it? Got my bari last summer and looking at a new tenor and I’ve been eyeing this one intently
The horn still feels great! I love the sound and feel. It's super even in all the registers. Everything I was looking for. Thanks for watching and commenting! I think you just gave me an idea to make a follow up video! :)
In this unboxing video I’m playing a custom SYOS. I recently switched to the Nexus Edge tenor piece. You can see my review of it here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-plp8nh5vmxU.htmlsi=HgzfsHRN3gv746IU Thanks for listening!
Hi Raul- check out this video of Jack Tyler from Boston Sax Shop re-assembling the horn before it is sold and shipped out. Chad LB play tests each horn. I can say that after going on three weeks with this horn I am completely blown away by how easy and fun it is to play. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-enZWR8mjUYg.html
@@jojopt2 I hope the horn works out, but that video is suspect as hell, the things they talk about 'making a horn lighter than a mk IV...wut?' nonsensical sales lingo bs.
I played a MacSax Artist series tenor. They stopped making horns to focus on mouthpieces. It’s a solid horn though and I still love playing their alto.
