I feel like the argument of better is more or less pointless. I mean you can see the technical superiority of eminem over that 6ix9ine(i think) but once you get to a certain level, most people plateau amd it turns to the message more than the ability. And who's to say one person's problems arent ad good as someone elses. Plus music is subjective so you cant just do it based on what you think alone

You, not Trippin. Anytime things seem to go TOO well, I get scared because all I think is "What's gonna happen now?" I think that when so many good things happen until you get hit with a huge negative impact in your life. Trauma and severe depression is tough. That's just how my life is sadly

I feel the same way. I wrote a poem about that feeling called "comfortable in sadness" that basically explains how its easier to stay low than to put in the effort of recovery

It’s a response mechanism typically from forms of childhood trauma. Not having stability as a child can make chaos seem like comfort as an adult. It’s odd how we associate uncomfortable childhood memories with adulthood comfort. It took me years to realize that I functioned better in high stress situations because it was what I was used to as a kid. It wasn’t until I was 30 that I learned it wasn’t how everyone functions. Balance is a very precarious word to some;) great reaction

Exactly!! We subconsciously get ourselves into situations that validate the toxic core beliefs that developed as we were going through the trauma, abuse/neglect.

"You feel the best when your life is hectic" I relate to this verse like so much. Sometimes you have so many problems that you don't want to think about and when you are busy with your work or something else. You don't think about those problems and you feel the best.

I hear what you're sayin' Dub. When things are quiet, I feel like I am waiting for that shoe to drop. If there is some sort of issue on the table to deal with, it allows me to focus on that/those things and moving past it. But to Ross' point, that should not be the normal. We SHOULD be able to enjoy those quiet times more, but with all that we have seen especially in the past few years we have programmed our brains for struggle. Too many of us are wired like this now, and suffer from depression/anxiety/mental health issues due to it. 2 mantras I have been trying to live by recently are "It's ok to not be ok" and "Be kind for no reason at all". The more we do for each other, and ourselves, the more we can heal and talk about those things we all deal with, as opposed to the things that make us different.

This is a year late , but like what dub said nf can make a sentimental song sound hip and shit where u can bop ur head to it and shit. I feel like that was a big problem with his earlier shit, he always had the sentimental shit but didn’t really have the part where he could make ppl bop their heads to it and no one really wants to jam to a straight up depressing or sentimental song lol. U had to be in a certain mood to listen to those songs . Now he does , and I feel like he’ll get a lot bigger cause of how much better his rapping/writing has gotten over the last few years

I know exactly what Dub means. I feel the same way and I can never relax too much because I have a feeling some type bullshit or turmoil is right around the corner. I've always said expect the worst and hope for the best because life has shown me if u become too comfortable in a good thing that's when u get caught slipping the most.

I've been to many different concerts of many different genre's but I've never felt a fan base truly unite where everyone related and was moved as to when I watched him do this song live. First, you have to understand how versatile his fan base is at his concert. People of so many ages and from different backgrounds and every single person was singing this with their hand up going back and forward.

I feel that. For me when life is going well that normally means there is some huge life altering/changing moment that isn’t very good about to happen. So the state of chaos is reassuring me that nothing is going to be altered too much. Also I love this song.
