Nah everything Em says has a meaning, it would be impossible to create a story with double or triple entendres if so, but he is great at story telling. Nf is too but lyrical metaphoric manipulation Em has him beat. Nf has Em beat when it comes to making it a song and making it a song that is emotionally impactful. It's all subjective to what you like or what you want at that time.

I don’t listen to Em bc he’s vulgar and swears. I enjoy NF bc his production, beats, and lyrics. He gets better with every record. But let’s be real, Em is a lyrical genius. Let’s not mess with this “whole picture” argument in hip hop. End of the day, when comparing rappers...it’s about the bars. So, I respect NF for what he’s doing. But Em’s bars are 100 times more complex, loaded with double and triple entendres. You can see it in how Em and NF will talk about the same things and yet NF does it in two straightforward lines, and Em is writing half a verse on it with highly complex rhyme patterns and imagery. But Em is the tragic perfect example of someone who is insanely talented, but he’s wasting it bc he’s not using it to bring praise to Jesus Christ, the one who created him and gave him the talent. So I listen to NF.

It feel kinda like NF is trying to say that EM may have been his inspiration to start rapping, but don't get it mistaken, NF is his own free man and will not willingly take disses, even from the dude that gave him that spark to start rapping, and he sure won't accept being put on hit lists either. It's not a dis, but it's definitely a warning for EM to back off. EM keeps it real, but NF IS real. You can tell it's a warning to EM.... in so many of the lyrics you hear NF use some of the imagery that EM put in his songs in a way to subliminally call him out. The gas can, the cocky smile that EM uses when he is using his Slim Shady personality. The gun shots came from that time where EM had said something about NF's lyrics sounded like lyrical bullets. NF took that to heart man.
