The balloons represent his burdens and you're spot on with the symbolism of dragging the cart on an uneven surface. NF, or Nate's, music builds on itself. I think you'll end up on the NF journey (order can be important in places), but while your just getting started I recommend watching the music video for Leave Me Alone which is a direct continuation of the video you just watched. If you want more right away may I suggest watching Hope after that...also a continuation of this music video...only two albums after this one.
