NFL 2K5 Week 1 Giants vs Eagles XBOX
First things first, don't stress! The Colts 2K1 and Bears Madden 07 Franchises are still going! I just wanted to get this started as this will be a multi-season project. The Giants were horrible at this time, with more holes in their roster than genuine talent. That being said, I'm confident that in a few seasons I can get them back to the point where they are competitive in the NFC East. This will be a much different situation to my other seasons where I have competed for the Super Bowl every year.
Here is the plan. Kurt Warner is only keeping the seat warm for Eli, but after he threw a pick 6 and didn't even attempt to chase Javon Kearse, I benched him. I won't be trading him, because QB is such an important position, but I did this franchise to build around Eli Manning, and that lack of effort accelerated that.
Tiki Barber is not who I want at RB long-term. He has a 4 year deal, and I'll just be honest here, I don't like him. The moment I can trade him for help on the offensive line or defensive weapons, I will.
I always sim the pre-season, and after doing that this season, the Giants went backwards very quickly. They're now a 65 overall! This will be a long-road back to success. But that being said, it's not a tank. I want to test out 2K5 and enjoy the journey. I did also enable coaching firings so who knows, maybe I'll be shown the door! 😟
Week 1 is against the Eagles, who are loaded with talent. They have McNabb, Owens, Westbrook, Dawkins, Kearse... man. What an intimidating first game!
I'm running the game through the 360 and wow. It looks so clean. This game was genuinely before its time. It's the best football game ever made, and not just for when it was released. Even now, it's better than anything ever made.
