I cannot love enough that they vet out potential buyers based on their knowledge of keeping a specific animal. That is something everyone in the reptile hobby needs to focus on more. Very impressive.

I wish they would make it a law that all shops are required to follow. It drives me insane that my local stores will sell red ear sliders to someone who wants to keep them in a 20g aquarium, or red tail catfish as 4 inch babies not mentioning how huge they get, Savannah monitors advertised as "great beginner pets" etc.

We wouldn’t even have this problem is people would be more educational to noobs instead of trying to embarrass them for having beginners level knowledge. 🥺🥺🥺

Sabrina is awesome and so are her ethics! Too many pet stores sell the baby giants, failing to mention what the buyer is in for! Love this video and Sabrina’s hair!

That super crimson iguana is the coolest. Iguanas seem to get a bad rap as pets, but in my experience, it's all about how they're raised and kept. I had several that I acquired/rescued in the early 90s as adults. 2 females and one male. Unsure of their ages, but definitely young-ish adults based on size. I rehomed the females and kept the male for about six years. When I had to take a job that required travel, I had a connection at the local zoo who adopted him and let him loose in their four-story enclosed aviary built around a massive oak tree. The only reason they took him was because he was dog tame, just a complete sweetheart. I used to visit him regularly until I moved from the area, but he was still going strong almost a decade after I got him. It wasn't until I recently got interested in herps again, for the first time in two decades, that I learned via RU-vid that iguanas seem to have a bad reputation as pets

I love how she said that she doesn’t sell her animals if the person doesn’t have the proper enclosure!!! It’s animals before profits!!!!! If more pet stores took this way of business to heart there would be a lot happy animals!!!

I’ve only been into Xtreme Exotics a handful of times, but I really like them. One of the times I went there I was looking for a basking light for my bearded dragon (his had gone out a couple of days ago) and I was asking Sabrina about the basking lights, and she made sure that I also had UVB (I did), which I really appreciated that she cared enough to ask

I love the heirloom sulcata tortoise. There’s a 56 year old gopher tortoise in MN that has been with the same woman for the whole time and is in her will for the next generation of caretakers.

This is what's cool about reptile owners it isn't really dominated by gender it seems to be across the board and it is always great to see females just as interested in reptiles as us males! Great reptile pet shop!

Such a great shop. It’s much more ethical to warn people about the size of the animal than it is to let them take home a $20 iguana like Petco.

Omg I was there earlier this year but did not know they were famous people...the Bengal cat room is the first thing you see when you walk in and they gator cages in the back were still under construction. I was thinking at the time that these people do exactly what I would do if I had the time, place, and money. Great place!!!! Thanks for sharing Dav....also I mentioned your reptile incubator video in mine...thanks for helping me build mine :)

I'm so glad their store seems to actually care for the well-being of the animals they sell. I've seen so many pet stores selling baby sulcatas and stuff to kids, obviously not informing them of the insane requirements. I'm glad they won't sell pond turtles unless people know what they're getting into

They a bit chunky, ease up on the food guys, I’m bad for that too, I gotsa restrain meself too from over feeding “9/10 people that come in to buy turtles don’t end up with one” That’s a store doing their job!!!!! I bought whites tree frogs from a pet store and wasn’t told anything about them when I was a teen, they survived, but barely! I’m still pissed at them, and myself for being ignorant
