I agree that a few of these may be "broken defense", but it appears to me that most are just a well executed offensive play to pick apart any defense. I think anytime a quarterback scrambles for any length of time, it gets almost impossible to cover the field defensively.
Watching it afterwards it might seem obvious that he should just run forward, but how would he have known that nobody would notice he had the football? Looks like he just played it super safe. I don't know why he ran away for a second though.
@@puppergump4117 Making it look like just the usual token "keep running after the handoff" bit, in order to sell it even better? Remember, this run wasn't just about him getting the ball into the end zone, it was also about selling the idea that he _wasn't_ the one running the ball, and keeping the defense fooled as much as feasible. The play-by-play guy wasn't fooled, but the defense totally was, as was the cameraman.
Most of these were just players getting lost in coverage or rushers getting past everyone which are somewhat forgivable, but the Chris Johnson one where he wasn't even covered is unforgivable.
Lmaoo 1:12 You Know In His Head He Was Like That Kid In The Movie "Little Giants"... "I'M GONNA SCORE A TOUCHDOWN!! I'M GONNA SCORE A TOUCHDOWN!!" Lmaoo
@@bluefenix67 he had some decent speed when he was younger. There are those viral clips of his long runs against the Bills early in his career and against the Raiders in like 2010. It’s just hilarious in this clip because he was almost 40 when it happened 😂
Dear Browns, This happens occasionally to other teams, too, but it doesn't seem to be such a regular occurrence with them. I mean, I know we are trying to increase scoring, but ideally that would be for our team and not for the opponents. Thanks, The Perpetually Disgusted
You left out the Alex Smith run vs. the Cardinals. It was, literally, the least contested play in NFL history when you go by how far away the defenders were from the ball carrier.
I love the tradition of these "but they get increasingly more" videos where they don't at all. The first and last play are effectively the same mistake and the same result.
The Chris Johnson Play.....49ers had a play like that against the Seahawks (I think it was Seattle) except Kaepernick didn't look up at all once over center and just mechanically handed the ball off to the runner with his receiver jumping up and down begging for the ball with no defender within 15 yards of him.
Not sure how you the Raiders D is not shown throughout this whole video. Feels like the last few years watching them there has always been players running free, especially on 3rd and long or 4th down.
"Nobody's covering him!" How rare is it for a broadcaster to actually point out something like that, and for it to be paid off two seconds later. I wish more broadcasters would pay attention to the games they're covering.
The Tebow to Demarius Thomas in OT not in here, Peyton to Brandon Stokely not in here, the one where the Ravens burned them in OT...only showed two Broncos clips.
I kind of feel bad for Leonard fornette from a legacy standpoint dude is a great RB in both college and NFL but had to play at the same time as Henry. Doesn’t help that he helped Henry win the heisman that he was the front runner for since he fell behind after playing against him and just transferred his spotlight to him.
