at first i thought he was a surplus but thinking about it, the drop off from the next tier DTs compared to the OGs is larger so murphys value is much higher. he seems like a type of player that can be a darnold. a game changer. i think after 10 years of darnold, the hawks wanted someone like that of their own. build a wall and force teams to throw. the hawks are starting to get some studs in the secondary so it might become an issue for opposing teams.

He’s small but makes up for it with pure speed. Takes on double teams and still gets to the ball.

I hate taking small defensive linemen who rely on speed. Speed from a defensive lineman can be beat by technique of on offensive linemen. But strength is strength. And a smaller guy who is super strong can get the extra advantage of leverage, and if he is quick that’s a bonus.
