Great show as always. Loved Mina Kimes being on the podcast. I always value her perspective on everything football. You can tell she does her homework during the season and in the offseason. She is clearly on top of ALL the teams' needs which is not easy to do as well as the draftable players.

How do you guys not realize OL is more important than weapons where young QBs are concerned?

Because that isn’t necessarily true. Depends on the scheme and quarterback. Quarterbacks like young Joe Burrow had a terrible offensive line but succeeded because of weapons and his ability to navigate pressure. Same thing with CJ Stroud. Other quarterbacks like Baker though had a really good rookie year with a nice offensive line but a terrible receiving core

When Mina is saying Mike Hilton, I believe she was referring to Mike Hughes. Mike Hilton went undrafted in 2016 while Mike Hughes was a first rounder in 2018.

7:19 Zig when others Zag. I think it comes down to match ups. Is edge the only position that can generate pressure? No. This is why drafting BPA makes sense because any position can generate pressure on the QB. But one thing about DT's is that if they can focus on stopping the run, that free's up the LB to play off more and can be more effective in pass.

But I also think that BPA doesn't always fit well with the team's needs and if that player doesn't fit well, then they aren't being maximized which won't amount to much anyways.

Newton is gonna be a very good 3t in this league. Hopefully the Bears trade down and grab him. We had the #2 run defense last year. He can add to that and add pass rush inside that we need

Whoever wants Nix or Penix is going to want that 5th year option, no? Teams not in need of a QB are really set up for very good players later in the 1st than they would normally go.

This is what will happen. Williams goes 1. Daniel’s goes 2. Maye goes 3 or 6. Vikings move up to take McCarthy. Broncos move up to take Nix. In this scenario Maye gets screwed. Because the pressure will be on him to turn around a moribund franchise. And he has not dealt with that kind of pressure before.
