As a Broncos fan I had every hope that Russ was going to work out for us and I still do. Having said that his game play last season definitely didn't warrant the money he is making. This year his play was better but still not worth the amount of money he'll make. If both sides can come together and figure out a better contract I'm all for him having another shot. I also think we should draft a QB regardless of what happens with Russ just to be safe.
Russ is going to have plenty of options to start for other teams there’s so many teams in need Atlanta , Pittsburgh , raiders , are a few who don’t have draft picks to get a better replacement
Payton s reward the Broncos with his behavior. He upped his hand to the other teams. They would never trade for him knowing the Broncos are likely to cut him. Why make a deal when you can pick up the pieces for almost free and get a very p!ssed off Russ who wants to prove he’s still elite?

Sean Payton don't want Russ to succeed. Russ success would proof the insanity of Paytons behaviour and decision making. So Payton only would keep Russ to let him fail on purpose and abuse him as the scapegoat for one more year, ruining his career and destructing his reputation. The recklessness of Payton is well documented: he payed players to injure and was banned for that evil from the NFL and he yelled at Russ hysterically in Detroit last season after the attempt to blackmail him.

Hackett was a desaster in game-management and - calling and couldn't tailor the offense to Russ. Then the Broncos in panic mode gave Sean Payton the keys to the building knowing, that Payton doesn't mesh with Russ. But Russ can still do his magic: watch the last Quarter VS Pats when Russ putt 16 Points on them in no time with all his magic to level the game and then Payton mess it totally up by calling silly screens which didn't work the whole game and help the Pats to win with the help of Broncos timeouts. The Broncos betrayed Russ pretending to want him as the franchise QB and never give him the chance to succeed being who he is because one HC not able to and the successor wanting to be the star by himself and refusing to tailor the offense and play calls to Russ benefit.
