snellsman dude was bigger than life back when I was younger. My brother was a cowboys fan so maybe that biased my opinion because he was my brothers favorite player so I always always heard everything about the man. But he was amazing.
Jerrol Julian he's so authentic w it and backed it up. We know he's a living legend n he was on the "swag" wave wayyy back since fsu days n kept it off the field n as he got older without being a total jackass. Combo of these reasons ?
My brother drove Prime to an event many years ago when he was at his best. He said he was very cool, engaged my bro in conversation and was a great guy. Little story, but says a lot about the guy.
Jacabo Blanco I asked my brother and he said no. My bro is a really down to earth guy and said he was gracious for the ride and was very cool to talk with him. Great guy according to my brother's encounter.
Prime: "First of all--Jordan is Jordan. There there's us. Don't do that. That's a cuss word, that's profanity. Jordan set the standard for all of us, on the field, off the field. Every business, everything. He is that. Leave that alone." Prime knows. Game recognize game.
because LeBron didn't set a new standard for all of these new kids? shocking a guy from that generation makes a push for another guy from that generation
Best football player ever! Shut down your best receiver, intercept your best QB and run it back for a TD as well as run a punt or kick off back for a TD
Yes! I was going to post something similar but I couldn’t word it better than this. Prime is a joy to listen to just like he was a joy to watch play even if he never played for any of my favorite teams.
It just amazes me how people aren't talking about what prime was taking about. Ali and Bo was a different breed of man. Ali for his total package and Bo for his complete athleticism
I'm indifferent to Kiper, but it's not about the media or what Prime said. Lamar will have trouble getting his due because these GMs/coaches have jobs on the line. Only those with secure jobs can go away from a proven commodity in pocket passers. Ozzie is already quitting next year, so not his problem if it fails.
Rocky Bleier was playing for the Steelers when he got drafted, in his prime, and was sent to Vietnam. He was wounded in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Elvis was drafted in his prime. Ali avoided the draft and went to prison. He chose that path and is not a victim.
MrGenXer I chose not to enlist either but it's one thing to enlist and another to get drafted. When I was a baby born here in Texas was that part of the contract? That I may be picked out to fight some bogus war? Okay we were "born" into laws so must follow them right? So does being born into segregation means it's okay because it's the law? The government fucked up by going to Vietnam and every veteran alive today says that. It was a lost cause and waste of time, money and lives. We have a right as human beings to not kill if we do not chose to, regardless of what any government says...especially a government that for years at that point had said you eat here, go to the restroom there, sit here all based on the color of skin. Sounds just as bogus as the war itself. It's one thing to fight for freedom and another for a lost cause. Yes we were helping others to fight for their freedom but at what expense? I support Rocky Bleier and the other veterans who put their lives on the line as well as the ones who died but it shouldn't have happened. Not all war and bloodshed is justified and most certainly not the Vietnam War. Coming from a vet.
They are speaking of Ali as if he did some heroic thing by resisting the draft. I strongly disagree. We had the draft in WWII. What if guys thought our involvement in WWII was bogus and a waste of time, money and lives? Would you agree with evading the draft in WWII? We can't pick and choose which laws to obey. Segregation is not a good comparison to Vietnam. Remember, a lot of Vietnam vets were against the war but they went anyways. Whether one agrees with Vietnam is not the point. Evade the draft, go to Canada, etc., the law will hold , and it held, the law violators accountable. Rule of law is critical to making this country work. If you don't like the law, work to change it but don't just break it. "Sit ins" , "resistance" is baby boomer hippie nonsense. Thanks for your service. I am also a veteran.
MrGenXer Do your research George Foreman did not knock out Ail! Larry Holmes ass whooping made him retire...and Joe Frazier knocked him down!🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤣
ZERO comparison with the past player...Jackie Robinson...Dan you lost respect bro! The average MLB player today is better than Jackie ever was. Forget the politics...pure talent, no comparison. Bo was the most gifted ever...hands down!
Patrick Lemire dumbest comment ever. There's no such thing as a running qb. There's dual threat.(Good at both). And non dual threat. Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, cam Newton, carson wentz, alex Smith, Andy Dalton, dak prescott, deshaun watson are all duel threat qb. 4 of those guys are in top 10-5 in the league. 3 are arguably top 5. 5 have has mvp caliber seasons. 5 have multiple playoff wins and 3 have been to Superbowls. 2 have won in last 7 yrs. You dont know football.
Anthony Graham there is a BIG difference between QBs who rely on their legs to compensate for their inability to pass in the pocket, or pass in general, and those that can do both though. That's the difference between being a good QB and not. True running QBs, for lack of a better term, do great in college, but fail in the NFL.
Jacabo Blanco yes. But you know what I call them. Bad qbs. Just like the pocket passer or perceived pocket passer who fail miserably in the league. It has less to do with whether they run or not and more to do with the fact that theyre terrible.
Jacabo Blanco the running qb moniker is a stereotype made up by the media. Joe Montana was athletic. He ran. Steve young ran. John elway ran. Boomer esiason ran. You always had and that ran. The problem is that the stigma of the running qb is only put on certain players. That's why I said the running qb doesnt exist. Because just like the dave Craig's, Todd philcoxs of the world. If u can't throw the football and read coverages u won't make it. Russel Wilson, cam Newton can read coverages and are accurate. Well cam is accurate when he actually wants to work at it. But rg3 isnt. Two are in the league. One isnt. All 3 use their legs.
Anthony Graham I agree with your argument but Cam is a running QB. One of the worst completion percentages in the league and one of the worst completion % when he is throwing the deep ball. Cam is so good with his legs tho that he won a mvp doing it. Russ on the other hand is very accurate and has a great deep ball. Calling someone a running QB is a way for people to say a black quarterback isn’t a good thrower. But Blake Bortles is hot ass and can’t throw for shit and is one of the league leaders in rush attempts by a QB but no one says he a running QB? Why? Cause he’s white.
Ali was so fast he could flip the switch off and be in bed before the room got dark. Prime could do the same but he'd already be tucked under the covers
I could not stand Neon Deion Primetime Sanders. I didnt like him at all. But he was a great if not the best of his position. If he played today he would be highest paid player and would be destroying everyone .
Vick didn't change the game... his style isn't successful in the NFL. That's why Vick was always hurt, and that's why every QB before & after him that plays that way is hurt with a losing record.
@terrell ivey yes he changed small things, but he was not effective as far as being consistant. His style has been proven over and over that its hard to win with it. 90% of the time he was run first. He was more of an athlete than he was a qb. If you cant pass you cant win. Now, Randal cunningham, steve young maybe changed it more than vick. Both of them could run all day, but chose to pass because it wins games
He suffers from LeBron James toe.. or LeBron James suffers from PrimeTime toe. So, you got to have hellafied jacked up feet to be a Freak Athlete? ok...
