It’s much too compelling a story to be changed up and watered down by producers and screenwriters. If we buy his book, his daughter may receive all the proceeds.
I thought I was the only person that does that!!! When I’m really tired but still wanna hear the story that’s exactly what I do!!! This sh sounds like an audio book!!!
Nah the new algorithm is wanting longer videos he’s adjusting to the times. No longer are the RU-vidrs getting paid so much just for play now it’s about run time and how long people stay watching. You’ll see more RU-vidrs doing this. He’s actually a little late, but still on the wave and knows his $$ is being affected. I like the change. Allows for creators to be a bit better. Even tho Flemo has always been efficient af.
@@MrLp1980 one of my mentors was named Willie..he was from Shreveport, LA..he was one of the most honest men Ive ever met in my life! & solid as a rock as a man
Appreciate everything you do.. teaching, no, reminding us what empathy is through art. This is art you feel me. Havent watched the full video but I honestly don’t have to to know I’m getting the real most genuine and unbiased interpretation of a story.. appreciate you flemlo
I'm a little ashamed at how much I laughed at Flemlo talking about how this DB must've bit on every double move. That is utterly savage, and I haven't even finished the video yet.
It’s already a book. Screenplays can’t hold a candle to a well told story. I would pay for an audio book of Flemlo narrating this man’s book so we get the real deal instead of some Hollywood person’s version.
Not so sure I buy into that. The US judicial system is pretty universal across the board in handing out life sentences for murderers. The only exceptions I'm aware of would be ex-Mafia guys who turned state's witness and joined WitSec (witness protection program), and the only reason the courts are more lenient on them is because they: A. Cooperate to put away the big bosses B. Forfeit all of their money (typically hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars) C. It's not really considered murder the same way as anyone else killing someone because mobsters only kill each other- other Mafia members -when they break their own internal rules. You start going down in degrees of murder- which impact the sentencing -when it isn't vengeful and pre-meditated because you're only following the orders your boss gave you, and when the person you've killed didn't do anything to you specifically to trigger it. In other words, it isn't first degree murder when you're just the hitman killing a guy who didn't do anything to you yourself, but to your criminal organization's boss, by not paying him his money or whatever reason he has. It changes the charges they can bring and lowers the sentence in those cases. Again, it also reduces it even more when everyone involved belong to a secret society where they all agree they can be killed if they don't follow the rules. At that point you're not just another citizen breaking US law, you're a member of a secret society that has it's own laws everyone agreed to upfront. This is why that psychotic, compulsive liar called the "Iceman", Richard Kuklinski, tried so hard to convince authorities he belonged to Roy DeMeo's crew as a hitman (he really didn't; he was just a serial killer). He hoped to have his charges reduced by alleging affiliation with the Gambino crime family. As crazy as it sounds, this actually has a big role in how the govt can charge, and sentence you, when you belong to an organized criminal conspiracy that has it's own laws that members agree to. It all goes out the window though if you kill a normal person who was uninvolved in organized crime. You're toast, the same as everyone else, when that happens.
Flem, you're definitely one of my favorite storytellers ever. The balanced approach and relentless research you do try to tell the actual facts about these athletes, paired with your empathy and not outright disregarding their humanity, no matter how heinous some of their actual offenses are, puts you in a league of your own. Bless you Bro and your family! 🙏🏾
Great story telling as usual sir. This whole story is a cautionary tale about why you have to have common sense and discernment. Being insecure and naive ruined his life. Running a caper with these idiots ruined his life.
I'm from them streets and I can tell you during those days brothas knew what time it was. Darryl may have been a little gullible but I doubt he was as lost as my boy thinks. You just don't wake up after a year and decide to merc a judge and girl you liked. Naw, Flemlo, even gumps knew what deals lol like.
He deserves every day in prison. Dude couldn't be that naive. The fact that he wanted to kill a judge and the witness shows that he didn't learn his lesson. He knew exactly what his man was doing. How did they get his license and credit card to rent the car? The Girl got less time because she snitched. Look at Sammy the Bull who admitted to murders but got less time because he snitched on Gotti.
I can't express the level of hype for a full hour long Flemlo video. Never even heard of this story, and it's really sad that bro threw his whole life away...
The dedication that flemlo have to his channel is crazy. I remember when you had around 100k subs now you’re on pace to have a million subs by the end of the year. Keep up the good work
Thats why i dont do favors..soon as I hear that word i automatically say NO..my uncle told me whe I was a kid that " a favor will kill you faster than a bullet 💯"
Damn. This is some messed up shit and there are definitely people that still deserve to be locked up, but Darryl has just made So Many bad decisions over the years.🤦♂️ You can't help but feel bad for him one minute but then laugh the next minute at just how ridiculous some of the choices were. This was a very good video.😄👍
Yes this story piss me off. I’m hate that Darryl going through this but bruh. He trusted to many damn people when people know u gullible and can have they way with u. That a road for disaster. SMH damn Darryl smh.
Maybe I’m just an old head (22) but we’ll made long form content is so refreshing to me as opposed to 20 second clips with a car doing gta stunts in the background
He reminds me of my lil cousin who too often saw us running the streets like we was a gang all while our older cousins were. My lil cousin started claiming he was a crip in a neighborhood that's run by GDs. My brother had to slap some sense into him because he was really trying to live a life he didn't need to at all. He lived on the northside with his Assistant DA mother in a very nice home and neighborhood but would come to the west side to hang with us. It took some time but once my uncle figured out what his son was doing that was the end of that. Like damn some people really need a wake up call early in their lives
WTF!! He got 41 years for a non-violent first offense offender!! Dam his money ran out and he super played !!! The girl and his friends he shouldn't have never fucked wit !!!
@@RodKI-un7xi He would have been out years ago on the drug charges. He remains in prison because he tried to have the Judge and the key witness murdered. He may have had a bad deal due to bad decisions, bad friends and bad lawyers, but he is not non-violent.
I met Daryl Henley at 1 of his football camps in Los Angeles. Him & a bunch of Rams put together a camp. He was an alright dude. Taught me about pursuit angles & body weight training instead weights to keep your speed.
You can get ten years for agreeing to a drug deal over the phone. Without ever seeing, touching, or paying money for drugs. Like they say in The Wire, the game is rigged.
You did an outstanding job with this. Thanks for continuing to keep us informed about these deeply moving and personal accounts of our players - the good, the bad and all of it.
I just found your site and may I tell you that you are very detailed and not biased to him being really involved with helping the friend. You did a great job.
Hey Femlo, Please…. Drop the draft kings sponsorship. We haven’t sent the damage that sports betting will bring to communities across the country yet…. Bro, please believe draft kings and apps of the like will most certainly destroy lives….. It’s basically crack in the 80’s….. Money is not worth selling people on a game where the wins are capped and the house ALWAYS wins! Please….. rethink this 😎
The work you put into these videos an knowledge you have of the individuals your video maybe on is great. Thank you and can't wait til you release another video
Wow an hour long upload??!!! I haven’t watched yet but I’ve given you a like off the strength. You always do good work so I’m excited to watch this whole thing G 🔥🔥🔥
Read "Intercepted" by McKnight. Great book! Deep dive into Henley, many hours spent with him in the pen, friendships formed. Not easy to pull off with Suge trying to protect his neck at the time research for the book was in motion
Omg dude you are one of the greatest story tellers! This one hour went by too quick. Keep bringing these great documentaries! Smh I was kinda thinking Darryl was kinda innocent but nobody can be this clueless twice!
Keep the long videos coming! I have ADHD and listening to you helps to get me through my chores. 😊 Now, nobody else has said it so I will- Darryl HAD to be a lil slow…. Mr. Bean and Mr. Magoo couldn’t have gotten themselves involved in this level of chaos! 🤦♀️
Flem is always trying to paint a narrative. He’s a good at telling a story and painting a good light on bad behavior. This episode it’s especially obvious. Flem acting one of them “free my ninja” dudes in this episode. If your get to the point in life that you put a hit out on somebody, you’re just a bad dude, plain and simple. Daryl always had that in him, just took him a little while to get there. Plenty of people have gone what he’s gone through and worse in the legal system without having put a hit out on someone.
This is sad. Our system is built off arbitrary punishment as opposed to rebuilding and reforming. I haven't delved into dudes story but great case for reformation in prisons.
Flemlo you’re a true artist. I’ve been watching you for years. Now that I’m a creator myself I can truly see and appreciate the artistry. The time and perseverance it takes. Thank you for the research and well thought out presentation
Darryl was no innocent bystander. Gee use to play football in high school and had a full football scholarship, but choose this route! Gee has been released at least twice from jail, but is currently in jail.
Bro you are a master story teller. I watched every single second of this video and didn’t realized that an hour had passed. Every video you post is Super intriguing and they always grab ahold of my attention and never let go. Can’t wait to see what else you have coming for 2024 ✌🏽👊🏽
Just started this one, saw the disclaimer at the beginning. Can't say this about most but I know I can trust you to be unbiased and take all sides of the story in before you form your opinion. And even after you have you keep an open mind, respect for that keep up the good content
I would love Flemlo do a show on serial killers. “Ted Bundy had his up and downs with woman with long brown hair but after escaping Colorado and making his way to Fla. for other prospects his life came full circle.”
NASCAR makes more right moves than this dude. Honestly if he is willing to do anything at someone's suggestion, even murder, he legitimately may be a danger to himself and others.
As always you present the story in a fascinating way. You sure give the dude the benefit of the doubt😊 something tells me he is not as naive as he portends. You should do NFL FILMS.
"You could get to work on that edit, the video isn't gonna make itself." I'm editing as I watch this, and that line made me so damn proud of my choice to do so.
Im proud of Flemlo!!! My fellow Mississippian brother!!!!! 601 Canton Mississippi in the building!!! Keep up the fantastic work young Flemlo... CUE DA WAYNE!!!!!
