This is unequivocally the best the NFL ever was and ever will be .... Almost all the teams had a QB, Wr duo... The defenses weren't hampered by the rules implemented in the last 10 years.... And the quality of any game on any Sunday was worth watching....
The NFL schedule makers loved putting pretty much meaningless afc vs nfc teams play each other in week 17 before 2009. I don't love Roger Goodell but having division rivals play in week 17 was a brilliant move.
Awesome! This week 17, 2004, was the only week that had highlights on 15 of 16 games possible (as they was a SNF game cowboys vs giants). Week 17, 2017 would have been the only time 16 of 16 games would be shown for highlights (since there was no SNF game for the first time since 1977), but there was no NFL primetime that year and primetime for regular season only was from 1987-2005, 2019-present. Love the music for 15 games out of 16!
@@chrisuncleahmad666 That may be true but Carolina could have still gotten in with a win while the Saints would be playing spoiler to knock Carolina out and getting the Vikings in. Looking back on 2004 week 17 and the playoff scenarios, this was the game that had the best chance to remain meaningful. If there is another one you think is more meaningful, feel free to reply with it
