Jerry Rice set that career receiving TDs record in his 10th season, and then went and nearly doubled it over the rest of his career. The dude was just superhuman.
No hate to Jerry rice but he has 3-5 more seasons than most other top receivers. Randy would’ve probably ended with 200+ tds if he played 19 years instead of 14
@@taquaywhite4503 well no hate to Randy Moss, but why didn’t he play more years? Not sure how being good for longer is a ding against Rice. I can see making the ceiling argument for Moss (who was absolutely incredible by the way), but I don’t understand this particular line of reasoning
Man, the amount of offensive records shown here really highlights just how much the game has shifted in the past 15-20 years. I love a good display of dominant defense but nothing beats the excitement of the scoring shootouts we’ve grown accustomed to.
the game is in more favor to the offense... why defense deserves the most respect. what they have to achieve and not get half the accolades as the offense just shows how great the defensive game is.
Throwing a flag on Hester for taunting on his record breaking return, when he was simply honoring Deion while breaking his record, is still one of the most tone deaf things ever done by an official.
I forgot how insane the 2013 Brocos were, and how ridiculous a 43-8 result in the Super Bowl was. Fun fact: Tony Dorsett’s single play record was tied by Ahman Green and Derrick Henry.
@@miles4920 Actually incorrect, the NFL doesn't measure half yards, the record is 99 and can never be broken since there can't be a 100 yard run from scrimmage, Green never had a 99 yard run, Henry tied the record now sharing it with Dorsett.
@@davidwiland453 The NFL doesn't measure half yards, Dorsett and Henry share the unbreakable record of a 99 yard run from scrimmage, the reason he put Dorsett is because it's a video of record breaking plays, not record tying plays, Dorsett broke the record, Henry tied the record.
I love how gronk spikes the football out of reflex, but then is like "oh no, what have i done i need to keep this ball" and goes on a wild goose chase to recover it.
Hate to burst your bubble, but that’s Julius Thomas on the 51st TD pass. I commented this before Demaryius caught the record breaking throw in the Raiders game.
If memory serves, Moss also claimed that he would break ALL of Rice's records. His excessive cockiness was such a turn off for me to any team he was on
Jerry Rice had to work more for his though. Randy Moss was still a monster but he also played in a different decade with different contact rules for DB's.
@@vasilistopalis2218 that just proves how much better Jerry Rice is than moss. Didn't matter what qb rice had, he still balled. Both of them went to the black hole but only one of them was productive. Remember that. It you're old enough
The Tony Dorsett run was on Monday Night Football. I remember watching it live. The game Emmitt got the record, Dallas lost 17-14 on a last second FG. Saw it recently on NFL Network.
This Monday, if the Ravens run for 100 yards or more against the Colts, they'll break the NFL record for most consecutive games with 100 or more rushing yards (43).
Love seeing Manning have some of those records but even I know that there’s still a chance with Tom continuing to stay in the league that he’ll eclipse some of those records that Peyton broke. On a side note, as a longtime diehard Broncos fan - even I have to give LT his dues. Loved watching Tomlinson and aside from Terrell Davis, he’s one of my favorite running backs to watch in recent decades.
How do you not have any of Drew Brees’ records in this video? Ik some of them were eventually broken by Brady but they were still amazing performances and plays. Most passing yards in a season (5476), highest completion % in a game (he went 29/30 passing), most consecutive games with a TD pass (54 but broke the record at 48 games), and the Saints as a team had 40 first downs in a game in 2013 which was a record too.
@@iZaners if you look at his outdoors stats from 2006 on (all of which were road games), his numbers are comparable stat wise to guys like Brady, Rodgers, Manning, etc. Dome helped him have the numbers he did to some degree, but his outside road stats from 2006 on prove he still would’ve kept pace with those guys. He probably would’ve won more too because it would’ve been easier on his defense.
You should do a part 2 of this with other records, such as most rushing TDs by a QB in a season and/or career, most receptions by a running back, most scrimmage yards by a hb, etc
God help us all if Peyton never got his neck hurt. He’d be some other type of monster. Still don’t know how that man played after the surgeries. I be too big of a pussy lol.
@@lotionboyg9650 So? That’s why the ravens won the game, that had no effect on tuckers talent. Just appreciate kick, no one’s asking you to appreciate the win
I hate how many our Chargers players hold these incredible records yet we have still not been to a superbowl in this era. Worst yet, we had 2 players from this video all on the team at the same time LT, and Gates.
1:59 Good old Michael Strahan my favorite player on the giants I love that man I am a giants fan and i have season tickets and ive been to at least over 40 games and that was one of them I went 2.
I remember Emmitt Smith breaking the record. He was averaging about 50 yards per game that year. It was a home game and he was about 100 yards short. The next two games were away. He played like Emmitt of old and went over 100 yards to break the record at home. I remember being frustrated with him because he didn't put in triple digits the whole rest of the year; but when it was about him, he did what it took.
Don't forget about what *Daron Bland* just did what no other Defensive Player couldn't do in the 2023-24 Season, And that's the Most Pick-Six (Which is 5) in a Single Season in NFL History
I see how it is... show the Raiders defense looking like trash on all the highlights, but couldn't give us the Longest Career Rushing TD by a QB highlight 🙄😂
Facts Adrian Peterson was a rookie when he broke the record. And the longest play in nfl history was in the same game. I wish I could have watched the game but this was 5 months before I was born
