Great season, and thank you for the videos. Curious, how much of your regular season model were you looking at during the playoffs, or did you build a new dataset specific for the playoffs?
Hey MD! You are very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. With regards to the playoffs, I focused primarily on the playoff dataset (I scraped the Playoff tables from the same source). However, I did look at the regular season data to see how teams did against stronger opponents. This was the basis of the 'Strength of Schedule + Strength of Victories' score heading into the Wild Card Round. That metric seemed to be a good predictor of how well a playoff team would perform in the first round. Cheers!
