"It's been nine days." Knowing what I know about Russell being limited in practice is killing him. But he respects Mike Tomlin and understands they're trying to prevent any futher irritation. They're trying to protect their STARTER. People over valuing how Fields looks in camp are setting themselves up for disappointment. That doesn't translate to real games and y'all should know that by now. What Russ brings is consistency, making very few mistakes, and playoff experience. That's why the steelers vets recruited him to the team.
Lets be honest Russell is living off of past accomplishments that he made with Seattle. He hasn't done anything as a Steeler to hold him in high esteem for this team. The Steelers are paying him the minimum and they don't owe him anything. If he is to old and the injured to play as a starter i believe the Steelers will keep him as a backup, but that depends on Russell accepting it. Now if Russ can play and perform well than thats a plus* I don't see it in him anymore because he is a old man now and injuries mount up more now.
@@williamhill1030 yes but no one wants to admit that. Ben was held on for too long and now the Steelers are still trying to recover from that mistake, but I believe that Justin Fields has talent to correct all of that. This is why I'm for Justin Fields starting QB 1. If Russ is QB 1, then the Steelers are in the same position they were in with Ben during his last years. I only want Russ as a mentor and back up like Charlie Batch was to Ben
The younger generation are dumb and ignorant to real success and always cling to new trends. Justin is flashy and exciting. Russel is old school and boring.
