I don't know why but this game was so futuristic for me. How menu was designed, that strange neon ribbon moving around car, hypnotizing yet creepy (for a kid) main themes. Oh man. Playing Most Wanted was just like walking in the park you know, where Carbon was some kind a limbo. I don't know why but atmosphere in Carbon wasn't "cool and nice" rather "one bad step and you'll be gone".
Carbon's dark atmosphere is what makes it my favorite. The darkness of it, the themes... It clicked for me. Most Wanted was amazing yeah, but this is better imo.
well, the thing is you can look at Carbon as MW1.5. The handling model is extremely similar. The problem with Carbon was the devs were being pushed way too hard for this game's release. I mean, it was released for pretty much every single platform/device available at the time, in less than 12 months. Just imagine a Carbon with a release date a year later, or just focused on the newer generation of consoles...
@@MrPrajitura This is true but to be fair that applies to all of the most popular Blackbox NFSs (2002-2008). All of these had a single year of development (or less) and still turned out great. Honestly this seems to be a common rule with some of the best games of all time. Still, I agree it would have been nice if Carbon had received an extra year.
After Nfs World and Undeercover and maybe Shift the serie was going down and we knowwed that the need for speed name was fucked in nfs most wanted 2012 the most wanted name was tolerated and the nfs serie was fucked
This song is on an Album. Lots of the electronic side of Carbon was made by a small electronic artist named Ekstrak, and this song is called Belt. www.amazon.com/Need-Speed-Carbon-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B071DWHRLQ/ref=sr_1_5?s=dmusic&ie=UTF8&qid=1513306455&sr=1-5-mp3-albums-bar-strip-0&keywords=Ekstrak
Tuners, Muscles, and Exotics….. crews fight for territory in the City, and it all gets settled in the Canyon… but you’d never survive…. wow the nostalgia… when I was so young I played this on the Wii at first. Years later I’ve returned to Xbox 360 with upgraded graphics, a much smoother control set AND a manual transmission. ;)
Tuners. Muscles. Exotics. Crews fight for territory in the city, and it all gets settled in the canyon. But you'll never survive. *Hard Drivers by Ekstrak plays*
The most badass NFS imo. Really made me feel like an illegal racer. Racing wasn't just for the fun of it, it was scary and dangerous, fighting for territory and, sometimes, your goddamn life.
@@chizu.iscold most people won’t believe this but I beat Darius on the first race , first try ; I managed to deflect him off the side off my car into the guardrail last second and won the race 😂😂
we need the backwards copatibility on ps4/xbox one/future nintendo nx/windows 10. new nfs 2015 sucks at all, there are no districts with neon lights, tuning vinyls is a huge SM, and music also sucks at full programm
I still play NFS Most Wanted. It is too much fun. :))) Mostly doing the whole 10,000,000 bounty thing in a one hour long pursuit.Yeah.I am using the ExtraOptions "hack" but still.lots of fun. :D
NFSU1: Cheery NFSU2: Confident NFSMW 2005: Badass NFSC: Dark and really creepy in some aspects Not ”dark and creepy” per se, but the atmosphere and songs just make me feel uneasy
much respect to the team who developed the game. well put together and the best part is the tuning. something about this 10 year old game that gives me nostalgia all the time just listening to the music . BTW, my favorite car is the m3 bmw. the iconic car of nfs...👌💯
Aron Tavares Exactly, you could easily notice that the game was rushed but despite the fact, it's still a pretty good game, but Carbon had so much potential and would have more to show if EA didn't force Black Box to work their asses off without no break... Otherwise Carbon would be a perfect sequel to Most Wanted.
I have the collectors edition and i have 3 cars rn in my garage, kenji's used to be rx-7 (upgraded more not maxed), wolf's used to be aston martin ( haven't even drove it and plan on selling it), and my rx8.... I plan on getting the supra and skyline, slap upgrades on those two beasts and whip the remaining bosses, angie, i beat kenji and wolf and darius.... Ahh so much memories from back then
Me personally I like Rivals' atmosphere. Carbon's atmosphere was like Undergound's but much darker which I loved. It's No.2 in my opinion. Hope this don't hurt u.
Every time I hear these carbon soundtracks they giving me goosebumps it reminds me of that cool dark atmosphere the blue smoke that came out exhaust because of nitro nothing can beat the vibe of nights of carbon
*10 years ago* tuning a r34 in nfs carbon to this song *now* tuning a r34 in real life this game gave me motivation to get rich enough to buy an r34. beautiful car.
I remeber when I got carbon I was like 8 or 7 but my appendix exploded in me the next day during school and I was sad at the fact that I was gonna die without ever having the chance of playing this, 3 months later I got home still bedridden and when I booted up the game and this was the first thing that came on lemme fucking tell you, the chills i got down my spine that day taught me how alive I am and how quickly i can dissappear
This game had the best atmosphere of the NFS series. It's really unfortunate it had only 4 bosses. Should have the same blacklist system from MW. Great games.
I was 6 years old I was pro racer at nfs u1,U2 and carbon on the ps2.Now I'm 13 and I will be 14.I think the old nfs is better now is shit we can't costumize.I search on the PS3 but is not :( R.I.P CHILDHOOD
I remember playing this game with my brother on the Gamecube when I was a kid, sadly I didn't play much because I was so hooked on NFSMW while my brother enjoyed Carbon, but now that I'm older I'm sad I didn't complete both, but damn this song is such a core memory of my childhood and always will be, every time it plays I think of my brother and it makes me smile. :) Good times.
Hmm remember the era when games were actually good? Back when games made u be inlove with it, from the gameplay to its soundtrack. Games you could've enjoyed..
+BlazePhoenix yeah i think they should do that too coz its not fair they did 2 nfs most wanteds and 3 underground games i think they should bring it back on ps4 :)
I remember playing this when I was 4-5 and couldn’t beat the first level but I loved driving around in my 69 blue stock af Camaro and just hearing the tuner them and muscle theme was my favorite then a few years later beating the game barely in my slow Ford gt made me so happy
I love this game. I remember how excited i was for waiting this game because of FastFurious Tokyo drift. Love the drifting mode and canyon race. The songs are so suitable for this nightly atmosphere
i rlly like this theme,EA is the best for music like this,i played the old NFS like underground 1 and 2,most wnated(2005)this one (carbón) and that one from 2007 but the song of Get Low in Underground1 is awesome for that game
I remember in 2007, after I received this game as a birthday since my birthday is on the last day of the year, I plugged it in the PS2 I used to play Most Wanted, I remember the game being easy to beat, in fact I beat the game in one day at one point. But the moment I will never forget is when I had only 10,000 points heading down the last distance between me in my Lancer and Daruis and the finish, after I won the game. 16 years later I still remember that moment
Drifting, tunning and racing with the most amazing cars ever seen, me with 9 years old i loved this game, and i'm still playing it only for the good times :D
I remember when I played this game with my youngest brother. When the first run begins, my brother taught this was a horror game as Cross chase after him. And then we realize how dark the atmosphere of this game than other game (just because the soundtrack).
This brings back so much memories... I remember customizing my Hemi Barracuda with custom body parts... I swear I never lost a race with that beast .... The Corvette too..
