Rofl! I don’t see the difference between these two versions except the Remastered looking SLIGHTLY clearer. Another example of why I now hate the “remaster” term: Spider-Man, released in 2018, was a great game I really enjoyed. Sony and Insomniac Games in 2020: oh let’s capitalize on it for the PS5 launch window and get more MONEY by barely “polishing” the graphics, and changing Peter’s face altogether, that will make people pay full price again for sure! Me: 🤦🏻‍♂️ I’ll go play the PS4 version again. Makes me think, what if The Crew 1’s paid DLC: wild run, which introduced a new multiplayer mode and redid the UI and graphics for real, was called The Crew Remastered?

The game is enjoyable overall--just don't buy both the original version and this "remastered" one. For those of us who did buy the original, this update *isn't* really worth our time and money--unless, I suppose, you're hell-bent on having the DLC and social experience parts (I'm not).

I have the ps3 version and I think I'll just stick to that. Honestly this wasn't the strongest one in my opinion. This isn't even remastered. Not even a HD. Its just a ported version to new consoles.

The water splashing effect looks more like smoke than water in the remaster. Where did the water drops go? 😂

Seems like the remaster has little details while the others have more details.

Galaxel lighting is less dramatic and is more realistic, like taillights or light poles, basically more bloom in the og one

Let me just make it simple for ya, the og one has more contrast while the remastered one has less contrast, hence why the og one looks dark af

I never got used to it. Compared to Dirt2 or forza horizon it looked like game on mobile phones, and it definitely had drive model of mobile game..

@@Cross8ow it ran on the same engine for Burnout so it had an arcade-y feel plus the fact that you can takedown other cars, I can see why you would feel that way. I loved it since it was more simple and the online felt nice

Literally all they did was kick up the texture resolution on far-away scenery, and delete the cool rain and mist effects. For a proper remaster they'd have to get in there and build more detailed models of the trees and scenery, add more physics and detail to the crashes, improve the rain and mist rather than delete it, etc.

@AMAZIN I was atleast expecting an increase in the poly count for environmental objects like the mountains and trees. They're still very jagged and low poly. And with the rest of the environment, all they did was reduce the bloom and contrast. This could've literally been done by a small mod team. The only value in this is that it comes with all the dlc

@AMAZIN i expected higher resolution textures. Here it looks the same washed out, somewhat low quality textures. The only thing they upped was the official resolution options. But they havent improved a single thing as far as image quality. The basically made it playable on modern consoles, thats it.

@AMAZIN not all of the cars. Licensing issues. Plus all of the in-game stuff you added is so minor to make a difference. Adding on top that its not a 10Usd game. Many remasters/ports are offered for free like witcher 3. And some way too cheap like mafia 2, AoE2 if you owned Og. And honestly mafia 2 Did way more than nfshp did in its remaster. You can only charge a price of full game if you make a new game. Look at mafia 1 DE.

lol it just looks more realistic- deal with it xd The rain doesn't go through your car anymore (in fact, when you are in a forest and it rains, you are most likely to see the fog and have a more darker experience in rain), Anti Aliasing is way better, smoke effects are so called "realistic", the shadowing, reflections and all do a good job at improving and so does the bloom. what the heck people. Oh yea also, the nitro effect looks way better- I mean it's charming that it looks chopped (the tail lights when boosting) but it looks better when it is how it's meant to be. Oh also another thing, car models are improved, landscape got improved

DLC integrated into campaign, improved aliasing, better draw distance, hd textures, most importantly crossplay...

Yep, the trees look like flat 2D on the "remaster". Not to mention the textures on the tree log in the background look lower quality than the original. The only increase in visual quality I can find in that part of the "remaster" is the reflection resolution being higher. This is not a remaster, it's not even an upgrade in the slightest.

It’s because it would take way too long for them to remaster Underground to begin with. Not only would they have to completely rebuild the game from the ground up, they have to renew all of the licenses for the songs, performance brands, and cars. Not to mention they would also be working with an older game engine, and with older code that they wouldn’t be familiar with. If anything, don’t even touch the originals, but learn from what made them successful.

Underground would need a remake, not a remaster. Anyways, the remake you are looking for was called Need for Speed 2016, and it wasn't that popular. That's the reason why they aren't remaking underground franchise.

That's a welcome change, with the original (last update) game, the rain was too heavy, it was really hard to see anything at top speed.

I prefer it in the remaster purely because they removed the lines coming from the rain shooting off the wheels and smoothed the spray effect alittle. But honestly that and the brightness are the only changes I could see.

Yea in specific conditions old game actually looks better. Other than that remastered have better textures, lightning and trees are actually better. Because it's not just mesh, it's mesh with the leaf textures. It's not a big improvement from graphics wise but im glad this title is back.

The only difference I can notice is Anti-alising at 3:38. And now I'm worried that original HP2010's online support will be cut (like original version of Burnout Paradise).

lol.. its basically retouched game didnt really do anything to change the look of the game, they probably just increased the texture res and added better ambient occlusion. Also added support for 4k 60fps.. Honeslty though the game looked sick as it was, the only thing was that 1080p felt like 720p upscaled hopefully that is gone and AA has improved other than that idk what else has changed. Oh! and new online service. Honestly not buying not worth it..

That will never happen and you fucking know it. They remastered HP 2010 because the engine that it was built in was readily available by Criterion. To remaster NFS: III Hot Pursuit they would have to get the engine in which it was built [which; a) Is very old and buggy. And b) Is made by completely different developers in a different Era of Technology available at the time]. It's not as simple to just grab an old copy and download all files and make it better and WHABANG! Remaster. They would have to completely rework the engine and graphics from scrath or just remake the game in a completely different engine. To be honest, I'm also tired of people bitching about how they want different things. *NFS HP 2010 gets remastered* Fanboys: Waaaaaaaaaah! We want NFS III Hot Pursuit remastered!!!1! *NFS III Hot Pursuit gets remastered* Fanboys: Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah wah! We want NFS Carbon remastered1!!!1!. It'll keep going like this forever. My problem at the moment is that this game came out 10 years ago and they have barely added any VFX to it. They could do so much more with the HUD, and with effects that appear off of cars (sparks, metal, EMP sparks, Turbo). The rain, however, should be either be a heavy pour or a light one depending on the situation, but in the end I'm cool with either one

The only thing I hated on the original was those FPS drops during the rain. The rest is good or better.

I think it might be limited to 60 fps.

Remasters don't have much a difference, it's usually updated graphics and mechanics and performance. This video shows that it accomplished those things.
