Well that made it more realistic. Especially when you got totaled. MW 2005, Underground 1 and 2, and Carbon had physics that made you survive each time. And that it only broke the windshield.
so true! the only racing game where you are constantly thinking "i could crash at any moment right now." the slightest tap against a wall or other driver makes me tense up every time!
Wok star The knitting, the dents, the scratches, hell theres even rust, its one of the most iconic NFS cars in my opinion, because real rust physically doesn't exist in the NFS universe lol
@@_obi_wan_kenobi_ The whole time, I thought he only had one car. So weird I always wondered why is he only showdown king, but he wasn't Drag, Grip, Drift and Speed king as well.
I miss the style of 2000s with rock music everywhere. Now everything is hip-hop, which I don't mind, but Rock music in racing games like this are really adrenaline-inducing.
It's not even hip hop, most of the songs in recent NFS are just fucking trash. No wonder, everything else is trash these days Also a lot of reggaeton, which all sounds the fucking same
every time I watch this intro, it gives a nostalgia. I did not play on PS3, but on PS2. There are people who say that pro-street is horrible, they are wrong. The strange thing is to think that most have forgotten the existence of this game. they could remaster the game, it was going to be great!
People who compared it to "dog crap" and called it terrible are the ones who didn't know how to properly drive a GTO. It was an entry for the EAGL4 game engine, thus the car handling was more realistic (it depends on the type of drivetrain) and it included the extensive car damage modelling. The best part about this game, is the one and only - the soundtrack. Wolf Like Me, Pogo, Blackjack, Neon Knights etc. WOW those are the songs to remember. And yeah, VTEC.
Well those people are "those" who kept yelling online "NSFMW2005 IS THE BEST!!!" and always give bad reviews on latest nfs franchises saying "the physics" is too arcadey even though nfs is an arcade game
@@heavenlanes5598 I have a spotify playlist with all my favorite nfs songs I listen to when I play heat. I tell you what. Nfs 2015 had some wonky handling, but when you did certain races and fuck "I Am Rock" started bumpin, I was totally blown away. Lol and the soundtrack for nfs 2015 was great. I actually saw joywave in concert. Lol
I remember playing it when it came out. I played it right after Carbon. I didn't have Internet back then, so the whole game was a mystery to me. That also means I haven't seen all the shit and hate it got from many people. That intro got me extremely hyped, but the whole "official racing" theme was rather off-putting. I was kind of upset it wasn't like Underground 2, Most Wanted or Carbon at first, that there were no cop chases and world wasn't open. Still, I liked the game. It made me like muscle cars too. Its style was fascinating to me. Years later, chilling in quarantine I decided to replay NFS games, after over a decade of playing shooters and RPGs only. And now I realize that this game didn't need an open world or cop chases to be good. I haven't done any of the cop stuff in Carbon and was too bored to drive to races manually instead of picking them through the menu. This game knows what it is and what its not and uses its strengths to the maximum.
@@zaebaniyunderground6260 I remember a funny emcee PSA during one of the racedays at Tokyo Dockyard. The man keeps saying to keep the racing within the agreed designated area and not do anything stupid outside the venue because the cops are itching outside the venue to bust the event up. I just love the attention to detail in the game.
I don't know if this is all CGI or not. Cause it looks INSANELY real animation for 2007. It's like if you converted the game's tracks into real life pretty much.
Autopolis, ebisu, ebisu togue, willow springs, texas speedway, Chicago airfield, mondello park, autobahnring, infenion, tokyo dockyard, and of course the hell. The Nevada highway
I always wondered how the hell did this game, which were supposed to be made by the side-devs (not the main Blackbox team) somehow looks and plays better than Undercover... I mean this game looks gorgeous
Devin Millar if Ghost is gonna make Pro Street 2,they need some Black Box veteran, or atleast make the driving physics the same, because that is where the old Prostreet is good at, and also damage physics is way better in Prostreet and also Undercover
My favourite NFS game. Carbon and MW being second. All these things like these flashy effects, random close ups and all that made this game so hype it's crazy. Whenever I see even just a screenshot of this game, it always brings tears to my eyes. This game got me into NFS so much. And that's why I hate to see how the more modern games (and EA itself) is doing these days.
To me the Battle Machine RX7 is the best car in the NFS franchise, it was something that could not be won or bought in pro street, and due to customer demand it was introduced in later nfs games, was used to lure us into playing the game, the damn intro to the game had me so hyped along with the promo photos and advertisements, the scratched paint, duct tape and zip ties with the mis matched wheels showing a "I wont give in no matter what and im not afraid to trade paint" attitude which if you actually go to a real race day event is what a lot of racers are exactly like, full of character, it could have been an epic backstory/side mission car. I love the NFS MW M3 GTR, Rachels 350Z, Eddies R34 and a long list of other NFS cars. But this RX7 should have been in Ryan Coopers Garage on Pro Street.
I've played PS for 15+ years, even modded the game on PC and your right, even I cant get a hold of the BM FD. I can get all the other NPC Ai cars including all the final boss cars but yet to come across the infamous trailer car. I know once and only once I saw the MW M3 but it was like a faint ghost of the livery gray on gray. The regular E46 M3 and its full body kit does exit, just not the livery (though its been recreated forever lol).
Man, even just aesthetically Prostreet was so good. Shift kind of tried to replicate that but couldn't for some reason. My favourite NFS game hands down.
Prostreet is NFS attempt at being the arcade version of Gran Turismo. It was hated because of that. For me personally this is the last entry in NFS that they actually tries something new. Later game in the franchise are pretty much Most Wanted without it's glory. Granted I quit NFS right after Most Wanted 2012 so I don't play anything after that.
I love this game! It's realistic enough for arcade racing game but isn't too realistic like some kind of simulator racing game such as shift, project cars, assetto corsa, grand tourismo, etc. It's balance
Not being open world like nfsmw and carbon was a turn off when I was little, but the events were so fucking fun. I distinctly remember a grip event for battle machine with the gti's that had a dirt section that was so fun. Top speed runs were a blast. The drifting was cool. The drag racing was neet.
Because of this game I learned that speed and road are things not to be meddled with. Also that racing belonges to The racetrack and not on The streets endangering others. Now after hundreds of thousands of miles I still remember this game and how it made me respect the road and that driving can be dangerous. Wish I can see remaster of this game :/
Aki Kimura's staged 4 RX-7 switched to speed racing mode and precisely tuned was the only car which could hit 404kph without Slingshot and NOS, with the best handling and quickest 160-404. It's been 14 years now but, day will come when I buy that triange boi and make it exact same as it's on the intro.
