Legally they can't. These companies only give out licenses with certain conditions attached to their cars' in-game rankings/perf etc. 400 mark is a very contentious one even in real life with bugatti/koenigsegg requiring a special key to unlock the car's potential
@@tim_prozoccer1139 Hot Pursuit 2010, MW12, and Rivals were great when it came to top speeds. I think they were the only Need for Speed games to have cars that go such high speeds. Of course we cant forget Shift series, Prostreet, and The Run.
Speed caps are so weird. They should allow these cars to reach their full potential. But to a devs point of view, in a multi-player environment, people would just choose the fastest car, and you'll have an 8 player race of Bugatti Chirons 🤣
Or get this, buff other cars and let the bugatti and regera be at their fullest. I really feel like some cars should do 240+ like the F1 and the very high hp cars.
@@MedicalBillz But after using common sense that’s not very smart. Why take the time and buff the speed of literally nearly 130 cars just to match like 14 cars in their top speed, when they could take those 14 cars and lower their speed a little so they can keep every cars top speed similar. Plus seeing a Volkswagen Golf going nearly 300 miles per hour just to match a Chiron doesn’t seem right, and 220-240’s mph is plenty to feel the speed of the game already, so no damn point..
so's the same thing for those who don't want to spend a single penny on this. besides, i don't think you wanna go over the limit of the maximum speed you can get in this nfs game. i can imagine it will feel WAY too fast in this one and you can crash into a wall or a traffic car, hell, maybe even the police Raptor or any other obstacle easily. that's the reason for the speed cap. there's a trainer that is probably out there already (maybe not yet, but then again, there's always at least one waiting), the "professional modders" can wait. they can easily cause a another "GTA 6 leak" situation.
How come other racing games like Gran Turismo 7 doesn’t have a speed car because it reflects how cars drive in real life and there’s a track specifically to how fast the car goes how it reaches its top speed even push it is limits it’s called special stage route X
You can see the rubber banding happening if you look at the yards behind indicator. He was driving at the limit and you could see them starting to make up ground really quickly.
@@JoshTewRaw It’s when you get far ahead of the other racers and the artificial intelligence that’s controlling them gets an absurd boost in speed that’s used to keep the race competitive.
For people asking themselves why there's such a limited speed cap: It's a mix between loading performance and contracts and licensing with the cars' manufacturers. In one hand you get your game's city which needs to load more sections and faster proportionally to your in-game speed (main reason). On the other hand you have big manufacturers using these games as a marketing platform for their vehicles, trying not to overpromise the performance and customisation options (not all manufacturers and partial reason). In order for the developers to keep an understanding balance in nice cars and good game performance at high speed they needed to limit the total speed of the cars (They even coded the traffic AI to spawn and crash into you to ease the system as one of the solutions).
In heat with mods you can unlock the speed limits and game still works and loads fine Plus unbound got the benefit of being a next gen only game not limited in structure by last gen's HDDs
@@damn6039 Well yeah the console runs it just fine but put a bunch of fast players with different Wi-Fi speeds on a server and it all slows down and lags. Under-powering people's cars online while keeping the local play unbounded would unbalance your gameplay and transition form On and Offline.
In FH5 you can push Bugatti's to go faster lol. I don't think licensing or whatever has much to do with how fast a car should be able to go with max upgrades
apparently this car was cut from Heat. We were supposed to get this car for a DLC before EA killed Ghost. One of the leaked promotional images for the DLC even had the Chiron with one of the widebodies here.
i know the video is about the top speed but I'm really impressed with how much tighter the handling feels on unbound. you can still randomly lose grip and end up flying somewhere uncontrollably. buuuuut you can keep grip for the most part. Watch his braking and cornering you can tell that the devs made it smoother than NFS Heat. i like that A LOT.
I assume for the same reasons why your top speed is around 240 kmh in gta v and burnout paradise. Map doesn’t load fast enough and it causes performance issues due to open world. But that’s just my guess
Because if you go too fast then the map doesn't load, and this is completely on the game devs poor optimization of the games. Just lazy as hell cos we live in a time where SSDs are fairly affordable and the average person doesn't have dated HDDs anymore. Just a lame excuse to not put in the effort to make a better game. Look at Forza franchise, in comparison.
If they don't want us going over 250 mph, they might as well never add the car to the game to begin with. Maybe they could've just used the Divo or the Centodieci instead, since those have lower top speeds than the Chiron.
It's mostly the acceleration department where the regera is broken, along with it's ability to basically grip and slide through the corners and still get grip nos, so it should be fairly easily nerfed
Classic rubberbanding. NPC's will accelerate when far behind you and slow down when too much ahead. THO it seems to work near end of the race while for example in NFS MW 2012 you could lose whole race due to that mechanic.
NFS Payback had it too (most cars were limited to 378 km/h with some km/h with NOS) but at least the Regera could go 428 km/h as race class and 435 km/h as drag class. Also Crown Victoria could go 410 km/h despite being 365 level and not 399. Also NFS Pro Street back in the day it had a cap of 402 km/h but mods could remove it to 455 km/h at least.
I think it’s just because of handling the speed. Their idea is probably that even though 400 is attainable itd just be mad difficult to handle especially in city areas
Yea I mean, didn't these speed get reached in like, 2 mile long dead straight stretches in the desert? Lol nah we got this, watch me clear a light post at 260+ lmao
Is it capped at 245? Or is there just not enough road to get up to 261? At the upper limits, even the slightest steering adjustment will hinder it from picking up speed. The air resistance is also magnified at top speed, making each subsequent mph harder to reach (irl at least). I have a feeling that on a long enough, perfectly straight route, you might be able to hit 261 mph within the game's parameters.
Even tho it's understandable there are many multiplayer reasons and obviously technical reasons behind the speed cap (as seen and discussed in many comments)... Personally speaking, would be kinda nice if they at least increase the speed cap a bit, at least for the hypercars like Chiron and Regera
Despite the performance issues which could happen from doing over 400KMH and being able to actually control that. It makes sense on a developer point. For starters we have health so a crash that hard would insta drop you to critical and essentially make it very unlikely you can make it alive to the finish line. Even if they remove it it would be ridiculous to control or even come close to reach it with the cars in the game. Also everyone would essentially use those car in the game which makes every other car pointless to even use.
>For starters we have health so a crash that hard would insta drop you to critical and essentially make it very unlikely you can make it alive to the finish line. which adds the risk and thrill of having such high speed, giving more excitement and variety for the gameplay in general. >Even if they remove it it would be ridiculous to control or even come close to reach it with the cars in the game. even in previous NFS games such speed has always been ridiculously hard and scary to control, it's like saying a game is lame because the devs don't want you to have much fun with it. >Also everyone would essentially use those car in the game which makes every other car pointless to even use. these two game mechanics exists to negate such issue: + the class system, so you can have races of different paces where you can have a race using and against non-maxed out cars in an equal ground. + the performance upgrade system where every car can be upgraded to have better chance in the competition, they might as well allow other cars to go beyond 250 MPH, to hell with realism as we already have many other things that should indicate you that this is just a game. as of now this speed cap thing has existed for the sole reason of how unoptimized the games are to render things at such speed, which then again proven to not be much of an issue by the modders.
@@strayednine8859 That would be rage inducing considering the health system at critical damage takes one small dent to take you out. The issue here is if you do crash someone will ram you to take you out on purpose. (Online is like hybrid NFS and Burnout with people ramming you to take you out of the race. That's not thrilling but annoying. ) Even if the class system exists for a reason. That makes S+ an issue with no one using but that one car. That's pretty much losing big money. (B-A+ Don't offer much. S on certain events, but most of the cash really comes from S+)
@@strayednine8859 Despite the idea to uncap the speedometer that basically removes the point of having a high performance to the max it can go. If every car could do the same, then there wouldn't truly be variety even if the class system is in the game. Every car performs far beyond what they should technically be going. (Like a Honda for whatever reason going faster than a hyper car with a stock engine. ) There's a reason realism is added as part of the formula to differentiate each car from the other.
Unpopular opinion, but I'm okay with it? NFS is about street racing: running on tight inner-city roads. What street is long enough to let you travel over 250mph without careening into the side of a McDonalds? you'd have to go to a drag strip or loooong highway to do that. Even for the arcade-y NFS, it's a bit silly.
All i want to know is when we could expect to get the next NFS Rivals style game... With how long its been a remaster of Hot Pursuit surely isn’t going to entertain us forever... They could even bring back older police cars like how they keep bringing back the BMW M3 GTR every game for racers they could do something like that for the cops side and let us drive Cross’ Corvette C6 or even something special like the Rhino from Heat...
Speed cap is understandable in a multiplayer environment. But in single-player just let us mow down AI (especially that Shimizu shit in his laferrari) and copper at 420kmh already FFS.
Holy shit. That's one massive c h o n k e r c h i r o n But yeah...it's a shame older NFS Games from a decade ago had us going faster than this. IMO there is def a way they could've made this work. If other racing games let the Viper go 270mph even, then there is no reason NFS can't also tune/buff the modding potential of non-Hypercars to keep up with said Hypercars.
that first had WMMT music or was I imagining it? lol been so long since I've played that I'm not sure... nice vid as always and I can't wait for the mods to tke the limiter off
These speed limits aside from being annoying are there so you can’t break the game. Weird game-breaking bugs would start to occur if you will move in the rate faster than world/road rendering
Conveniently glances over how you changing the aspiration from it's stock quad turbo setup to anything else actually reduces top speed. I think the lower top speed was from changing the aspiration even though it says it increases power it reduces top speed.
I've been racing S-class alot and I can recommend a couple cars, but I havent gotten around to much. Try out the McLaren 600LT or the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series. Not much info to go off of, I know, but those are my picks.
There were times that even the BMW M1 with the Inline 6 Engine is speed capped too like there is literally extra space to even get to higher speeds but it doesn't do. Not even its aerodynamics can make it even faster
For me the most disappointing about Chiron is that when you buy it the grip is immaculate... and when you fully upgrade it to elite tyres, suspensions etc etc the grip is so much worse while the speed remains the same... Really weird physics
This is why I love the payback upgrading system, there is no limitations. The cars is as fast as the time you put in it, no two car is the same. In heat, unbound ect all the fully upgraded cars are the same, where is the fun in that?
If editing in frosty is enabled, I can take away a limit. And they actually arrive at 260mph, but only Chiron has a limit of 267.5mph on the engine side.
I know it keeps MP balanced, but it's just like every 400+ car in NFS Heat doing 232-233 top speed without NOS. Makes no sense that they all do the same speed, especially since some of the cars couldn't handle those speeds they're going
Personally, I think The Crew 2 is the best for Bugatti Ciron tuning. Rather, it would have been best if there was a Bugatti Ciron Mansory tuning kit at Need For Speed.
