Great demo! You're simply showing how great the guitar looks and sounds instead of stating how good these are 'for the money' because they are so much more than just that.
Beautiful demo! I’ve been going back and forth about which HB guitar to add to my arsenal of guitars...was leaning toward a Les Paul-style guitar, however, this demo seals the deal. I love the tone, look, and overall look of this model. Appreciate your playing, too!
Did you end up getting one? I got a CST24T black flame with P90s coming tomorrow! $192 B stock. I already have a HB35 lemon drop. It plays great! Right out of the box it feels and sounds great. Couldn't believe how nice of a guitar you can get for $219 from Thomann. Cheers🍻🤙
It is testament to the quality of the guitar that you are prepared to spend a further €125 for a set of Seymour Duncans. However you are achieving a superb tone with the stock pickups !!
I just picked on up Saturday in nothern Minnesota. Guy I bought it from upgraded with jumbo frets, and some cheap locking tuners. For 240 bucks it is pretty sweet, but the tuners and nut are going to be updated.
pickups sound great actually, wouldn't change them. Darrel Braun's videos have done so much to expose the myths of high priced pickups, if they sound good, who cares what brand they are
Man, the Axe-Fx II XL+ is the shizna for such thick luscious creamy tones, of ALL kinds! The nearly $2,000 price tag is a bit much, though, IMO. But as the old saying goes...you get what you pay for. Having said that, does that maxim hold true for the Harley Benton CST-24T? Or is it excepted?
thibderob - So you recorded this clip with the guitar straight out of the box, with stock pickups and hardware and factory set action? Or did it require fine tuning? After seeing the incredible sounds you were able to get out of it, I'm about 94.87% certain about buying this exact guitar. Any issues to be aware of at all? Thanks in advance and AWESOME skills, my friend!
I bought the same guitar but I don't like stock pickups. I'am going to change but have no idea which set to choose. Please share Your's upgrade video. How can you handle with wiring and split coils?
Nice playing, man from Mauritius ! I'm gonna buy the Emerald Green version of this guitar. Your guitar looks darker than it is. Can't see the woodgrain. That's also why i want a green one, but not gonna swap pickups. Do you know the neck fretboard radius ? On Thomann site, they say 350 mm, divided by 2.54 cm = 1 inch, would be 13.7 ", almost 14. But i thought a PRS was 12". How flat is this fretboard compared to an Ibanez ? Thanks.
Indeed, you're right. PRS is 10" radius. So this is a 16" ? That's the same as an Ibanez. Strange why they mention 14" at Thomann ? Are these the stock pickups by the way ?I don't see Wilkinson on the pickups. But that's not always the case. They also use another brand. Forgot the name. They are quite similar. Thanks for the reply.Greetz frm Belgium.
Yes, these are the stock Wilkinsons. It's hard to see the logo, but it's there. The thing is, I never saw the radius of CST-24T being mentioned in the specs, but most of other HBs have 14" radius. It's confusing and Thomann should clear it up.
Yes they should. They mention 350mm wItch is 13,7 " . Actually i rather should have a 14" instead of a 16",because of the better playability of chords on the first frets. Or even better a compound fretboard 12" to 16".That would be dope. The other brand of mics they use are called ROSSWEL and should be even sligtly better. Thanks for the reply. Greetz.
I could not agree more. A guitar video should be the guitar being played and a list of the equipment used . Chat should be minimal and at the end. The guitar should do the talking really .
Please tell me/us about this guitar. Looks fantastic (aside from the headstock logo...), and it sounds great. How does it feel? Neck? Do you really feel the need to change the pickups? I'm not hearing a problem with them - do you? How are the tuners and bridge? Looks like a bargain if it feels as good as it sounds.
It's not as easy to play as my Ibanez guitars but it's easy enough. I would like the frets to be a little higher, I'll raise the action instead. Regarding the pickups, the Wilkinson are OK, I just want something better. I swap pickups on all my guitars, and this time, I want to try a classic Seymour Duncan combo. Tuners are good, the bridge too but I tightened the springs as I won't use the vibrato
Thanks for your comments. How do you think it compares to a PRS SE or Epiphone in terms of quality and playability? The price is really at that point where it's like, 'i'll take a flyer on it,' without ever touching the neck or hearing it in person. With an almost 'inevitable' plan to swap pickups. If the neck is good, it seems like a great platform for a JB or a Bare Knuckle or something.... And i'd have to do something about that logo. My gawd - when will non-designers learn that that font is a joke.
Id say that its probably ever so slightly below par with your average Epiphone ( as you can find some outstanding Epi´s these days), however that is not taking anything away from this guitar as its a very good instrument. Looking at it and hearing it you really couldnt distinguish it from a much more expensive guitar. I found it heavier than I expected, but the neck and playability is very good on the one I have. I found the coil tap pretty useless as it thinned out the sound too much and dropped a lot in volume, but I had already planned to put a JB/Jazz combo in the guitar and disconnect the split before even buying the guitar :) If you get a good one they can be very good and worth double the money that you pay.
Really GASing for the new trans black one... only thing I dislike about the guitar is the god awful top of the headstock... wish it looked a bit more like the OG
