NHL 24: Goalie Be a Pro #2 - Battle with Belfast! 

nhl 24 goalies actually look fun this year, already had a lot of fun messing around with it. let’s hope it lasts

I'm curious to see what's going to happen with Scott in the NHL. Seriously, though, your "Goalie Be a Pro" series gets me hooked, like it's some AAA show on Netflix. Me personally, I'm not a fan of the tethering. I'm sure it'll help new goalie players though. :)

as someone who couldn't save a beach ball with the nhl 23 goalie system, i like the tethering system so far

Gotta say, I’m loving the new celly’s. Seeing the AI get crazy with it at clutch times is actually pretty fun.

I'm also not sure how EA Sports has completely gone away from letting us view a daily scoreboard with box scores and all that. It can't be THAT difficult to put into the game, because they used to have it in MVP Baseball. I want to be able to look at other teams' games and see who scored what, who fought who and so on.

What is tethering

So is the story just copy and pasted as last year?

In Europe, the champions league system makes all the teams that qualified for the knockout rounds or playoffs play two matches against their opponent. At the end of these two games the total scoreline for the two matches is calculated and the team with more goals wins. If the score is tied, the next tiebreaker goes to the team that scored the most goals when they were the away team. If both teams scored the same amount of goals when they were the away team, the second game goes to overtime and eventually shoutout if no one ends up scoring. Hopefully this helps

I mostly play D and G. I like defense in '24, but god damn goalie is terrible. This system won't allow you to cut the angles properly, you are always fighting against that crap. Being deep inside the net is not realistic goaltending. It feels like this would be a good training thing to help my 4 yo nephew, this is ridiculous.

How do you turn off the tether? I’ve been looking up guides and it’s not in the controller settings?? Can you please make a video?

EA has trashed this game. The tethering system does not make sense. How can you make someone fight gravity while playing the most difficult position.

I *HATE* the tethering system in 24. It's like you have to old the sticks VERY lightly to be able to move and then hold the stick in the perfect position so the goalie doesn't just tether back to the middle or skate all the way out. It's trash

Okay to explain the CHL to you. It’s basically the same as the champions league im soccer. all the best teams in the top european leagues except the khl compete in a big tournament with a round robin and a knockout. knockout round uses an aggregate system where you need to score more goals than your opponent over the span of 2 games. its very entertaining hockey of you get to watch

I played goalie in be a pro since nhl 20, it's come a long way still haven't got 24 yet but even 23 is an insanely different animal than 20 was 20 was a nightmare 😂😂😂

Belfast are by far the best team in the EIHL, but when thry come up against european opposition they just fumble most of the time, i dont support them, i support another team in the EIHL.

this tethering is really bad imo. it really limits what a player goalie can do, and I always feel like im fighting against the system.

i absolutely hate the tether system cant stand fighting with trying to keep control and the automatic hug post

I don’t mean to crap on EA but come on! The bare minimum they can do is change the colours on the menu screen in be a pro to match the rest of the game

The playoff format in Europe is a home and home 2 game series. If one team wins both games obviously they win, but if its tied the scoring is the tiebreaker exp: game 1 4:2 game 2 2:3 the final score would be 6:5

5:30 I have seen belfast play hundreds of times and they are a strong team EXTREMELY good team, thats why they make the CHL like every year

I haven’t played NHL since NHL 20, but I just noticed that they added the ability for the glass to break at 10:06!

Tethering system SUCKS

Personally I like the tethering system, mostly because I've got a nasty habit of panicking and ending up five miles from the net and letting in stupid goals.

Team you played against was the Belfast Giants who won the treble last season (playoffs, regular season and challenge Cup) the head coach is Adam Keefe, brother of Sheldon Keefe :)
