@@samueliaho8193 to be fair, he had some good plays in game 1 that just weren’t finished on. Benn should have had goal #4 at the end of the 1st period on a play roope set up but yeah hopefully this game gets him going.

Yeah he got a lot of credit for that series vs Calgary and since then he’s had some rough stretches mixed in but he’s probably a little under rated atm.

Because he really hasn't been very good this season at all. I'm a Stars fan, but he's cost us a lot of soft goals and does so regularly. All anyone ever knows him for is "60+ saves against Calgary", which, of course is an insane number, but he isn't consistent enough to be considered elite yet. He has moments, but you need more than moments to win a Cup.

The avs don’t have the best defense but have dominant offense which is why this happens.

In fact, the stars don’t have good defense either but have roaring offense.

A lot of people seem to think that we aren't really fans down here. The Stars are *huge* here in Dallas.

Ice hockey basically has (almost) everything we Texans love: hard hitting, fights, tactical line changes, etc. The only thing most Texans hate about this sport is the cold and we really don’t find that much a problem either.

@@XX2Media Funnily enough, I'm actually moving out of Texas because it doesn't get cold enough. I've been spending winters up north my entire life and figured why not just move if I like the cold so much

If the same were to be said about the stars there would be no hope for the avs. Just utter abyss for 4 straight games

Both teams have played roughly 60 minutes out of 120. Stars dominated P1 of G1 and P1 and P2 of G2, Avs dominated P2 and P3 of G1 and P3 of G2. This series is a lot closer than a lot of delusional Avs fans think it is.

I agree. Not a fan of either team but loving both team's game skills set. This has been the coaching attitude for ages to overplay some players and sit others, and it backfires more often than not. Hockey is so demanding of one's body that I don't care on what level you are, you will get gassed if you're being overplayed while players who could help get cold while warming the bench. Coaches simply don't understand there are physical limits in hockey and if you're being used too much, you will have to start conserving your energy and you won't be able to go full blast all the time. That's why there are usually four O and three D lines. The sport started with only one line playing, then it went to two, then three and now four. There's a good reason for it. My take on it is that if you are good enough to get hired as a member of an NHL team, you're good enough to play. It's up to the Coach's skillset to employ you in such way so you have an effect on the game and not be second class citizen out there. There are so many things wrong with playing the team unevenly, the list of positives is very short, the list of negatives is very long. Yet they (the Coaches) still do it on all levels. I was one of very few Coaches who defied this habit and I played all my players as long as they gave their all on the ice, regardless of mistakes. It played huge dividends in team's play and cohesiveness, eventually. The team quality trajectory always went almost straight up, and I was able to repeat this with any team I ever got to work with.

Neither team has truly played a full game yet from start to finish. The Stars come out hot, the Aves come back firing. This series is a lot closer than all the delusional fans of both teams think it is.

It's nothing to do with "turtling" and everything to do with gassing out. Dallas are playing with only 5 d-men, and one of them (Lundkvist) is averaging like 3 minutes of ice time per game. That's essentially 4 d-men trying to keep up with the offensive power of the Avs. It's fine for 2 periods, but by the 3rd they are completely gassed and inevitably lose control. They aren't deliberately turtling lol

@@anthonyfaccaro7118 They never do, I'm convinced most Avs fans don't even watch their owns teams games. Colorado has the ability to score anytime from any angle and make it 5 goals in 5 minutes, that is their strength. The teams have split about 60 minutes each of dominance over puck control over the series, and neither team has played a complete 60 minute game from start to finish. Yet here we are tied 1-1 when it could easily be 2-0 for either team, especially Dallas given the leads they accrued. This series is much closer than most fans think it is.
