I just played a hs game and we were down 1-2 in the 3rd all the other team did was dump the puck in from the right boards at the red line to get a change. It was going wide and I tried to stop it and make a play and it hit my stick and bounced into my net so I came here to maybe make myself feel a little bit better
I swear whenever a goalie goes out of his net and tries to pass it the the defensemen behind the net, I always feel like one day they're gonna put it into their own net lmao
@@galifianakis2808 yup, and the whole team has been inconsistent this year, shouldve been a playoff team for sure, now it’s looking like they wont make it
With all of these (and especially the ones where the puck is lost in the goalie's equipment) I kept hearing Dangle's voice in my head: "Oof, that's a Dang-It!" LOL. 😉
Everyone around knows about the Farmington goalie who scored on himself and then flicked off the coaches and left the team. An absolute legend around the area and saw him play against my school team (bonus clip)
My dad was the coach of that Farmington team. The kid didn’t leave the team he was a senior and that was on senior night. He was then suspended. He was not a legend. He ruined the night for all the seniors on the team.
I noticed a lot of very good goalies in this compilation. It’s quite interesting that so many great goalies have moments like this. I guess it really does happen to everyone.
When the puck gets lodged into your equipment, under any circumstance that you did not intend for, should be an immediate stoppage of play and void any action that follows. I mean what can you even do to continue play? Awkwardly shake the puck loose or grab it with your hand, which would likely lead to a delay of game penalty?
Now it depend on where it is, if a goalie has their shirt inside the pants(in the back) and the puck rolls on their back into the pants, then it’s a goal. The shirt should be on the outside of the pants and would then have rolled into the goal. When it’s in the skate etc I have no idea
I agree. If a player got the puck stuck in their pants/skate/whatever then dove into the net it would be called no goal. Why should goalies get shafted in this scenario?
@@DerekReznik I know, I’m a goalie myself but it’s a thing I’ve learnt at the yearly referee education I have to go on each year to ref and at least where I live it’s a rule I don’t know about NHL but it’s a rule even if you can’t control it. The thing is that most goalies including myself tuck the jersey in the pants either bc it’s too long or because it looks good or something. For me it’s bc it’s too long
It's annoying in those cases because they're re-setting like they should in case the puck has gone out somewhere, they can hardly stand out of position when they have no idea it's stuck in their kit.
Personally, I wouldn’t call that an own goal from Korpisalo any more than I’d call it an own goal when the puck deflects off a defenceman. It was bouncing around during a scramble in front of the net, and he made a great save before a bad bounce.
Marty Brodeur, Miller in his prime, Jonathan Quick in his prime, Kelly Hrudey, Bobby Lu. They aren’t joking when they tell guys, “It happens to everyone.”
I would never do what that goalie in the last clip did, Some games I've had 15+ goals per game scored on me (no joke, once even 20.) and I just kept playin and having fun (besides challenging the shooter lol) I love being a goalie and I just wanna play no matter how many I let in I play roller and floor hockey however. Thanks for listening to my rambling lol
When I played goalie as a kid, id get super frustrated and in my own head, never quite this bad though. Looking back, i wish I just focused more on having fun.
In tel he clip the goalie is a senior and he was told he was going to be a backup goalie going into playoffs. He thought he should get the starter in playoffs so on senior night he did that. Put the puck in his own net and flipped off the coaches on the bench(I know this because my dad was one of the coaches on the bench). He was then suspend and he completely ruined all of the seniors night on senior night.
you missed a big one here - look up red wings cup winning goal in the 2008 series vs Pitt. Fleury leans back in the crease and pushes the puck into the net. Gives Detroit a 2 goal lead and winds up being the game winner.
Or in other words, goalies doing the exact opposite of their job (though I do have to say that the 1st clip was a bit unlucky (hitting the puck twice with 1 swing when do you see that?)
@@DeltaHighlights how he dropped it in his net?...he gloved the puck so quick he turned around to show the audience with his glove open and it slide out and in the net. The rules state it's an assisted goal yes but without the need to turn to the crowd he would have had that stopped. Unofficially I'd say he scored on himself.
@@ccbuddy813 Well after he dropped it one of the Red Wings shot it into the net. He didn't throw it directly in, but dropped it a foot before the line.
if you can't kick/headbutt the puck into the net, how does it getting stuck in a goalie's gear and it crossing the line count? going off the goalie? sure, whatever. it being stuck in their gear? yeah, that's kinda bs
