I watched the Blues broadcast of this game..they had a great graphic during the second intermission. The Leafs outshot the Blues in the second period and not one shot was anywhere near the blue paint of the crease. Not one. As for the Leafs feeble power play..all you got to do is survive the first minute of the penalty because the second power play unit is laughable...
@@paulthompson8793 the leafs actually had the gall to go the full 2 minutes with the first pp unit at the start of the season..but that was insane..tonight the first unit was trimmed down to one minute..and if you noticed the Blues..they never put any pressure on the second power play unit cause its so feeble. This maple leaf team / franchise has absolutely no desire to win a cup in our lifetime. it's the same crap year after year . So whatever you think about them, dont be fooled into thinking they do .
Remember all that talk about 1 or 2 of the core four leaving the Leafs after they were eliminated from the playoffs last season. It was just talk. These 4 overpaid overhyped players are still taking cap space and headlining the Leafs. I am looking forward to the Leafs losing Marner for nothing after this season. When you are up against a good goalie it's of vital importance to be extremely responsible in your own end and in the neutral zone so that you don't give your opponents the opportunities to strike on the counter attack. The Leaf's seemed to never really learn that lesson. They never seemed to learn how to play well defensively especially the puck watching that is a part of the team culture at this point.

Tanev in particular stunk for the Leafs. Crap refs again, watching directly from 10 feet away as Woll is purposely knocked down by the Blues player going through the crease. No call. Only explanation is the ref is blind or they bet on the game

Nobody responds well to be yelled at and belittled. Think of how that feels and tell me, would that motivate you to try harder? This coach is weak with a loud voice. Everyone blames a coach when a team isn't doing well. I think many times, the team isn't doing well to get rid of their coach.

Agreed sadly. I think we all know the leafs will be ok, but not a great start. Goaltending has not been decent so far. 5 to 1 against St Louis is awful. 😮
