Adrian Kempe scored the opening goal and helped set up Vladislav Gavrikov's OT-winner as the Los Angeles Kings survived a late comeback effort from the Tampa Bay Lightning, winning 4-3.
Yeah, I knew he'd be special. I was so infuriated seeing people call him a bust when he was so young, and always injured. Now he's fully healthy, and he's arguably the best all around player on the team. Couldn't be happier for him.
Phew... that was a close one, BUT THE KINGS WIN!!! I thought the Kings were fantastic defensively this game. Certainly 5-on-5, at least. Although, I honestly think they were great on the penalty kill as well. Yes, the Lightning scored 2 power play goals, and tied the game on what was essentially a 6-on-4 with Lewis having broken his stick, but I think that's more of a credit to the Lightning's incredible power play, more than any defensive lapses on the Kings part. When the Lightning scored their second goal to make it 3-2, I got flashbacks of the January 9th game between these two clubs, where the Kings surrendered two goals in the 3rd period, and ultimately lost 3-2 in OT. The Kings would of course, give up the equalizer with the Lightning's goalie pulled, on what was a near identical goal to the Lightning's second goal earlier in the period. Going into the OT, I knew that only one thing mattered for the Kings, and that was possession. They needed to be the ones attacking to start the overtime, and not allow the Lightning to utilize their momentum offensively. The problem was, the Lightning had gottem the better of the Kings in the faceoff dot over the final two periods, which played a huge role in the Lightning's comback effort. The Kings did end up winning the all-important opening faceoff, and from there, it was the Gavrikov show. He did all the work setting up the play, and Kempe made a smart move holding onto the puck to draw the defenders, to set up a streaking Gavrikov, who makes no mistake, and calls game! 📞 Kings sweep the home stand, and now the look to Monday for a tough matchup with the Canucks. Let's hope they keep things rolling! Go Kings Go!
Good game, Kings! Wish TBL had gotten the W, but I was glad we got it to OT after being down 3-1. Talbot made some great saves and LA made some critical goals. Go Lightning!
Big reason why I don't have any faith in the Lightning in the playoffs is their 5-on-5 play. If it wasn't for their power play, they wouldn't even come close to sniffing the playoffs. All 3 goals they scored tonight came with an extra man on the ice.
@@encycl07pedia-It’s always the non-Lightning fans talking about a team they know nothing about. They’ll completely ignore the 5 wins in a row and get so excited when they finally lose.
@@rly-hq6wn Maybe. I don't really care about this season too much. The Kings have tons of potential, and will be good for years. Very young, and a lot of talent on the team and in the pipeline.
Mikey Anderson had no right scoring that kind of goal. I was more shocked than Vasilevsky. Then Gavrikov sniping in OT. Didn't expect our crap D to be scoring the goals tonight but we'll take it.
@@user-jo1uj2rd2vинтересное соперничество, куч может выйграть, а может и нет. Но это не самое главное, они трое суперкрутые игроки, вот это радует, смотреть на них кайф, кто любит хоккей.
Adrian Kempe and the Los Angeles Kings wins in overtime against Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 🏒⚫⚪👑 Los Angeles Kings went up to 37-22-11, while the Tampa Bay Lightning dropped to 38-25-7
😍😍😍WoW! The Kings have won 3 in a row at home too? I gotta check the schedule. I wonder if they will play 3 more games at home. Maybe they will go on the road.
Doesn't matter. There are countless examples of players getting assists on that. Brayden Point's OT winner in Game 6 two years ago was knocked in by a Leaf stick but there were TWO assists awarded. Many such cases. Everybody knows what's going on, and everybody sees how quickly the mob is running to the defense of hockey's ruling elite.
@@FightersHeartI didn't say that made the goal illegitimate. I'm just saying Jim Fox called it wrong. Last Kings game they got like three goals from deflections of more than 20 degrees off deflections of the other players. I'm not giving those goals back.
A good game to spotlight both teams' weaknesses: First, at 19:41.2 of Period 1, Kings captain's penalty summoned the NHL-leading power-play squad. His team's NHL-leading penalty killers flopped 12 seconds later. Kings' 2-goal lead tanked late in Period 3. Kings' game-winning goal 25 seconds into OT brought their OT W-L record even with Lightning's pregame 4-6 record, and ended TB 5-game win streak. A weird emotional roller coaster.
Well cant win them all and when they have a off night the bolts still scratch out a point so all in all it wasn't that bad of a loss to me. Also we changed the lines up for this game ,lets out them back to the way they were please lol cheers.
😁😁😁Did Kings announcer Nick Nickson say Bloody Gavrikov? I'm glad the Kings won in OT. Stamkos scored 2 goals. His goal with 46 seconds left in the 3rd period tied it 3-3. Gavrikov got a breakaway goal in OT with just 45 seconds into OT? Go Kings Go!
@@GWh135 I get that but all that work is worthless if a player blows his coverage and allows a wide open game winning goal. It happens though. I do think he is a good player but not a pay the guy whatever he wants kind of player. He’s not as good as he once was.
@@hav0c337 He is still a great player and the perfect captain. They just won 5 in a row, Stamkos scored 2 goals in the 3rd period and has 2 Cup rings, I’m sure he’ll be fine :)
NHL badly wants McDavid to win the scoring race so they make the 1st goal an own goal to remove Kucherov's assist so McDavid can win. Kucherov did everything on the first goal and no assist so McDavid can win the Ross.
Didn't really deserve it. Refs absolutely blew that holding call on Laferriere to give the Lightning a way back into this game late in the 3rd. Only way the Lightning can score is with a man advantage.
@@SempiternalautumnWhen the special teams is that good, you have to still give credit. Lightning now have come from 2 down on LA, probably the best defensive team in the league, twice. When your powerplay can make the best penalty kill in the league look like the sharks, that’s a powerplay that can carry any team. Plus, lightning came back and won in Tampa against the Kings on only 5 on 5 goals, Lightning have scored a lot, 5 on 5 and on the powerplay. It’s the inconsistent defense that’s the problem. Gonna cut you slack cause the Kings only play the Lightning twice but you have NOT watched the Lightning much.
& so many of you wanted Q 2 b traded! WHAT FOOLS THESE MORTALS BE.. & GET THIS HE'S STILL ONLY 21.. KOPI ON STEROIDS & OUR FUTURE LEADER, he stays healthy he will be here 16 years & hopefully 2 more cups at least
