It amazes me how many odd man rushes they allow. They are so slow getting back on defense...they leave their goalie out to dry too often.

What a ridiculous COMEDY OF ERRORS. Are they trying to get Lalonde fired, because that was the worse display of team defense I have seen in a very long time. Chairot, Seider, Gosthisbere, and Edvinnson looked like the keystone cops falling all over each other and hanging the goalie out to dry. What a DISGRACE!!!!

cant remember seeing a team falling over their own teammates as much as the Wings. Multiple times this game just before a goal by the Wild. others coasting back. Keystone cops and lack of effort, start by firing Lalonde and see if that lights a fire

Just to add to this, there were a ton of dropped sticks and a couple strange bounces as well both off the boards and off the ice itself. Comparative to most games it looked a bit like a circus. Possibly bad ice.

@@DantesTyphoonthere’s no such thing as bad ice any more in the nhl. Standards are too high. Pucks could be too cold causing to bounce more, or could just be luck of the draw. Any how, why can’t the wings string together a solid performance??? They have the tools but the coaching is poor and Larking needs to find a way to fire up his defense

even sat at home, the wild's tactical know how is self evident. the new coaching hierarchy has defo instilled positional awareness which seems to have boosted each & every player's self confidence. a good & exciting team to watch which couldn't be said a short while ago! congrats & GO go Wild

Agree. The Wild were not playing their best but some of the spots that did shine were playing better than typical. That blue line pinch they've had since Hynes finally came together well and Johansson stepping up with a good return from Hartman was nice to see.

⁠@@DoctorbosterTbf Reimer hasn’t been good all year. This was probably one of his best performances lmao. Yeah the defense is hot garbage but a new goalie would help a lot. Lyon needs to be in as much as possible he’s the best they’ve got. In the end it doesn’t matter when the defense is this bad

You're not wrong, WM. Seider has been overhyped for the last 2 years. This team looked good when everything was going right, a little adversity and this team crumbles like the Roman empire

As a wings fan, we really are a bad team. As much as my fellow fans wanna sugarcoat them. They need to tighten up. 1 our management and coaching staff is terrible imo, 2nd we have no defense or goaltending. And 3rd they aren’t a family out on the ice. (Meaning most of them don’t know each other that well and how eachother plays or reads plays as a team) and lastly lazy hockey almost as they don’t care. I had optimism especially since we actually started great. Usually we will start 7-3 or something like that then fall apart, but we made it to 14-7 and I felt good. But this isn’t the first time the wings have let me down. Just my opinions.

Can't speak for much other than these highlights but Reimer didn't look awful. He made some great saves but it looked like Detroit's defense didn't even exist. Forwards routinely left alone with the goalie...

Wow. The Yzerplan? This isn’t the year. Hopefully Kane makes for a good trade chip. Husso and Reimer need to go, along with most of our defence. Seider looks like an idiot out there.

I think Seider's lackluster performance is squarely on the coaching staff and how he's deployed under Lalonde's system. Compare how he played this past summer at the World Championship for Team Germany versus how he's played under Lalonde these past two seasons. It's a stark contrast. Lalonde needs to go. It's evident he's not able to get the most out of this roster. We're clearly a vastly superior roster on paper to the team last year, and yet we're just as bad in the standings, other than the fact we've improved our scoring. I say this as someone who was very excited about him last summer and thought he was a breath of fresh air from Blashill. But at this point, I have lost all confidence in his ability to coach his team. Either this roster doesn't fit his system, or his ceiling as a coach is assistant at the NHL level.

Well Y made the mistake of going with Lalonde over Torts...I've got nothing against Lalonde, but believe me modern coaches dont bench their players or in this case specifically goalies, TORTS DOES!

The Red Wings defense is just too similar to the Sharks defense. Trading so much for Alex Debringcat when the overall roster is not good enough to be a cup contender is just wasteful. If the Wings were a legit top 10 team it would be fine but a nonplayoff team doing that trade is just begging to get burned.

Wow. Rasmussen again blindly throwing the puck around the boards to the other team and it leads to a goal. This happens every-single-game. I'm sick of these stupid "pretty" drop passes. Skate it in and find a safer play along the boards, cycle it--but no, a dumb blind drop pass results in a breakaway for the Wild and Fabri not back-checking allows the late man to pick up the puck laying in the most dangerous place on the ice and it ends up in the back of the net. Defensive lapses--there is no defense. People are giving up on plays before they end up as goals. Raymond and Seider look lost lately, and there were, what, 3 collisions that left 2 guys all alone. Coaching change for the Wild wakes up a team that had a really bad start and now they look like what the Red Wings should look like. This was not Remier's fault--it could have been a lot worse--good job on him. Sprong deserves a new contract and a promotion to the first or second line--he's a beast! Everyone should be emulating him and maybe they would make the playoffs. Wings will be golfing in late April, just not in Michigan. Also, did anyone else hear the Benny Hill theme song being played during the second and third period?

We are still in injuries every red wings fan out there we don’t have all our pieces cause they’re out hurt ,and it’s not getting our chemistry going.I guarantee once we get healthy again we will get on a really good roll again cause these injuries hurt us bad.i mean think about we still have a good shot at making playoffs more then Ottawa buffalo like they were expected to but there performance is way worse than ours .We’re still right we’re we want to be with lots and lot of games to go.i bet lots of money we make the playoffs lots of money.

Berggren and Edvinsson played better D tonight than most of our vets. I’m not convinced we have enough time left to make the playoffs now, especially with the competition out there. We dropped 9 of our last 10…

I think playoffs are a long shot at this point. Our defense and goaltending problems can’t be fixed in time. Hopefully Kane resigns and takes a friendly deal. I know everybody says trade him but he adds a ton of depth and clearly still has “it”

And I would argue Carolina fans are saying it’s been a disappointing season for them thus far so I feel like if we’re going to catch anybody it’s Washington. I hope you’re right about Kane. Let’s hope Edvinsson finds his footing and can be a top 4 defenseman because right now, that’s just about the only quick fix they have to their defensive problems

And one more thing even if we don’t make the playoffs,I bet lots and of lots of money Kane gets his extension cause of his performance and people thought he’d be the problem when he’s been our best player since day 1🤣.kane won’t go to a contender cause he said he wanted to sign with Detroit and that he liked what he heard from yzerman about the direction this team is going.this is about kane’s performance not the redwings performance if he can get an extension delusional wings fans.
