I've always thought 2K should make an NHL HITZ remake or that style of game if they want to get back into making Hockey games. Because clearly their more realistic sims were not working for them. EA needs some competition otherwise they own the market and can do as they please rehashing the same thing over and over again.

I remember the intro with all the crazy hits and Limp Bizkit “Rollin” blasting while dudes got rocked. This was peak early 2000s. What a gem the game was.

That's "Bombshell" by Powerman 5000 so unless you were playing Limp Bizkit while you played HITZ they weren't part of the soundtrack.

They don't make em like this anymore, 3 on 3 arcade was decent but limited and didn't recapture the magic of this one. I'd love to see them remake this game. Would be a nice change of pace from the current EA franchise.

I just picked this up at my local used video game store for $25, with a controller! Oh my god, the nostalgia! I was obsessed with franchise mode, and made countless teams, always using the funny heads, but being so young I struggled in the later rounds of the franchise. Now replaying it, its insane how broken one timers are. Regardless, this game is so classic, and definitely deserves a reboot! Great video man!

This just brought back so many memories being in 6th grade creating my own team using names of my friends at the time for all the players. Switching between this and halo was the absolute best.

NHL Hitz Pro still to me is the greatest hockey game ever. U can make it somewhat realistic depending on settings yet still have absolutely insane hits. The graphics and presentation was great too. Still play it to this day 💯🔥

I played NHL Hitz 2002 SOOOOO MUCH growing up! Midway Games made the BEST GAMES, but they went bankrupt. They also made my all-time favorite game, Gauntlet Dark Legacy. They also made MLB Slugfest.

You can actually get Datsyuk in the franchise mode of this game, as a free agent. You can also get some special fighting animations, based upon how much energy your opponent has.

So much fun was had with the buds during hockey tourneys playing this and NBA street on PS2 back in the day. I was always the little bro who brought the system on the road. Good times. NHL Hitz and mini-sticks in the hotel halls with security running after you and your parents getting billed for putting holes in the walls. Nasher: next series you should just be you holding plastic mini-stick twigs over the heating element on the stove and giving yourself some banana curves. Nostalgia man.
