Hello, Here is Something strange… Yesterday I was thinking… “I wonder if Neil would do a team’s center ice ranking” and sure enough… HERE WE ARE! Keep up the good work Neil!
Wow. I've been to over 50 Stars games at the American Airlines Center, and this is the first time that I noticed the red line is not completely red and has the Texas silhouette.
You should do a ranking based on team branding: basically combine how well the logo, name, sponsorships, city, etc work together and do an in depth ranking. Does sound very time consuming tho.
Additional detail for Montreal - it looks like the ice crew used the width of the "C" in the logo where it intersects the red line to be the width of all the red blocks in the line.
The Carolina Hurricanes Red Line the squares are Hurricane warning flags. They use to fill in the center with black but took the black off to kinda match the faded warning flags on the jerseys and it blends more into the red line like the flags do on the jerseys
I’m pretty sure the red line with the squares for the hurricanes is supposed to be the warning flag symbol that they use in their brand. Great job Neil!
You didn't say anything about the 35 for Phil Esposito in Chicago and the 80 for Matiss Kivlenieks in Columbus behind the goals. Why not? Two distinct features compared to small patterns in the red lines.
Those were very nice features for sure. I did mean to mention them during the video, but sometimes when you're on camera and filming you're so focused on the flow of the video and thinking 2-3 sentences ahead that sometimes you forget certain things.
Hiii... I watched ur ankle surgery video... I m having the ankle injury.. So want to know that are u walking normally without pain, up down stairs, do u have any restrictions? Ur answer would be great help to me.. Thank you..
I am able to walk up stairs totally fine. In fact I can even run up stairs. There is restriction of movement sometimes, but usually only early in the morning after getting out of bed.
The best one for the Ducks was during our 25th anniversary year when the middle red line had both the D logo on red and on white was the Mighty Ducks logo. SO NICE!
I've got a list idea... Doesn't have to be a ranking, doesn't need to be strictly NHL, and doesn't need to be current. What hockey teams have the best and worst ties to their city/state/location namesake? For things to consider along the lines of best, I love that my old hometown had the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. Most Louisiana thing ever. For worst, consider things like the NBA's Utah Jazz, who merely kept the name after moving from New Orleans - similar to Atlanta Flames making sense, but whatever to Calgary. Interestingly, the NBA's Houston Rockets were originally the same name in San Diego because General Dynamics was based there, but makes more sense in Houston after the move. The Macon Whoopee (defunct) was a great city name pun, but a generic name with regard to actual ties to the area itself. Etc.
Rank the AHL next. The Moose and Barracuda are the worst by default, because they don't have their own logos anywhere on the ice. I suspect the Silver Knights would have your #1 ranking.
I just love the red keys from the UBS arena logo. UBS arena is so fire. The outside heineken bar is like a club on its own. Been to 11 home games even when we lose its always fun (but expensive) in there
Why don't arenas get rid of the red line from inside the center ice circles, making the logo whole? Since it's only for icing being that there's no 2 line passes anymore. Just like they did with the ice surfaces at the Winter Classic and other outdoor games. Just saying
Carolina has a huge missed opportunity to turn the red line into a bunch of hurricane warning flags, all they needed was to make the white dots black squares and leave some spacing to denote groups of two.
Just came here to be that one redwing fan complaining about the removal of hockeytown in the middle of our logo on the ice. They said they were testing it out or something but this here test has been going on for a couple years now….
The reason why the Panthers don't have a sponsor on the ice is that the name of the arena is temporary. They were hoping they'd have a permanent sponsor on the arena at some point.
I agree with what you said about it being impossible to rank, however my least favorite is ironically your favorite. The Vegas one. I do think the middle looks cool from above however from the broadcast view it looks all muddy and it's hard to tell what's going on when there's snow all over it. Just my opinion though.
75% of y’all are not subscribed? What the heck guys, Neil has such good content and maybe with more subscribers he can put out more great content for us! Love the video Neil
Not sure how possible this would be due to copyright and such, but id love to an EIHL (UK Elite League) Jersey/logo ranking, I think a lot of the designs over here are pretty strong. Great vid as always!
Here is a weird thing that bugs me: when a team has 3 sponsors instead of 2 or 4 in between the blue lines. It just doesn’t look good. A perfect example is the Blackhawks with how they have 2 Coke Zero ads, a Bud Light ad, and a different Bud Light Seltzer ad. Why can’t they just make it look good and switch to a 2 or 4 look. It’s easier with the Blackhawks because it’s 2 companies sponsoring 3 different brands, but some of the other teams should change their sponsors to get it to be 2 or 4 like the majority. I know that’s a random rant but it’s the internet.
for the florida logo, its because they have no arena sponsor because the arena’s deal with bb&t ended so now it is called the fla live arena until we get a sponsor, so no sponsor on the ice for now
I know, but the site did not have that particular ice surface updated yet. It will always be the Staples Center in my heart, so I don't really care what its new name is.
Definitely thought the Jets were going to be #1 based on all the jets on the red line and your love of aviation. Can't disagree with the one that you did choose for #1. It's something I don't think has ever been done in the NHL.
The Ducks had the D logo and the Mighty Ducks logo alternating in the red line for a few seasons and they’ve had arrows pointing to the center dot in the early 2010’s
@@wendellblackett8317 its just a joke bud im not serious. buts its true theyve been bad since the change but the team sucks too. Just fire ducharme. you see what happend with the canucks they turned the corner instantly with a new coach and a fresh start
I'm not even a Blue Jackets fan but I wish they were higher since they still have the "80" behind the net to honour Mattis Kivlinieks. Otherwise I agree with every thing
