In Slovakia we all know if Ziggy continued and didn't have injuries he would've been the greatest player in modern Slovakia. He is basically a legend here, he's basically like Ibrahimovic for us in Slovakia. He also contributed to a lot of our medals in IIHF tournaments.

Ken Dryden is who immediately came to mind for me. Retired at 32 years old.

Another great video and always been fascinated with Loob seems unbelievable to leave when he did. Hat off to him though.

What a brilliant move by Marc Bergevin to gamble on bringing Radulov back to the NHL, on a crazy small contract.

Was a solid signing for the time he played for the Habs!

shows somthing interesting that palffy in the "dead puck era" put up more points then loob in the "live puck era".... i really think 1 player skews the stats of the 80s. look at messier and jagr same amount of games~. one played almost entirely in the dead and one almost entirely in the live yet both finished with about the same amount of points jagr(1.108) and messier(1.075). i know this isnt what the vids about but its shows that minus gretzky and if lemieux had a full career his ppg would fall back like all full career players do their would be 0 standouts and this live and dead puck would never be spoken of.

I think big Buff left only because he already accomplished what he wanted to do in his career, which was win a cup. No point in risking your health playing hockey when you already accomplished what you wanted to do

Agreed. I think Buff had a pretty bad concussion in his last season. He had lots left in the tank, but put his health ahead of money. I have nothing but respect for that. The crap that was going on in the Jets dressing room may have also played a part, but I think he would have just requested a trade if that was the defining factor.

epic video as usual. I sure hope the Jets retire 33 in honor of big buff sooner rather than later having been the face of that franchise as long as he was until his abrupt retirement in 2020 right when covid first started. Too bad he had to retire then and too bad he didnt play just 1 game in 2019-2020 (since 1 is better than none) since he only had one more year left on his deal at the time so could've played it out than retire in 2021 but the ankle or foot issue whatever it was was just too much i guess. It was past his prime when he stepped away too he was in like his mid 30s when covid first started in 2020

Kenta Nilsson is a pretty good example too. One of the most prolific scorers in history, 10th in points per game

Jagr Could be one since he's done it twice, same thing with Kovalchuk. Even though they weren't in their primes for their standards they were still the top scorers from their teams
