Mtl fans have a lot of trust in this current management. We trust their decisions. Odd for Habs fans. But, they have earned it. I'm OK with whom they trade for or not.
McGreedy needs a guaranteed spot in an NHL lineup so that means he needs to go to a team that isn't a playoff threat (San Jose, Chicago, Anaheim) or a contender that needs to retool on the fly with entry level contracts (like Tampa Bay with Geekie)

But none of players on Montreal besides Dach or a futures picks deal makes sense. Schneider makes sense or if Jets had to add more. Im a rangers fan, i wouldnt want ehlers because they need good playoff forward, ehlers hasnt really been very good in the playoffs, so i would likely pass on him, unless he plays on the 3rd line which is unlikely

It makes no sense for Montreal to be paying the trade cost for Ehlers when they are only getting Kakko back. Maybe whatever Montreal gives to NY for Kakko can go to Winnipeg in a package for Ehlers. But NY needs to be paying the price to get Ehlers.
Dude, not spare parts. Obviously you do not know Habs players. These are high draft pick prospects with NHL experience. We just have too many D. Give it that these are the best D, no. But, how many first overall do you want. 2, 3 or 4. for Mcgreedy or Ehelers? Lets all make sence here. Jets are in a massive bind and the Habs are offering a bloody BIG olive branch here.
@@HabsAndHeavyMetal we're not a rebuilding team. If you check out the contracts we recently signed, it was based on the fact that we compete. If we bottom out one of these years and it happens for a couple of years then maybe. But for right now, tossing off a 60-point player for a couple of could be's sounds like Selannei deal part 2 and that's not something that we're going to do right now
You can waive Krug. It's not super likely anyone would pick him up though. He's still fairly productive but the defensive side of his game has slipped a good bit the last couple of years. To move on from him you'd likely have to retain. And you wouldn't get much relief burying him in the minors. I want to say vet max is like 1.5 now.
Habs will most likely get another high pick next year in the 5-10 oa range. They can address the missing piece in their top 6 with that selection justifying to restraint at overpaying on the trade market: Demidov, Suzuki, Slaf, Caufield, Dach and then ?
We will get another great piece but that player is still gonna be a long way from being nhl ready , we want an older prospect (21-25) to speed along the process.
@@louismaltais4508 if you can get one without overpaying sure, if not there is no rush. Your core is Slaf, Hutson, Reinbacher, Demidov now. Don’t see the logic in adding a 25-26 yo like Necas, but a 20-22 yo could make sense if available.

Jets fan here! We will not accept anything less than what Chevy has set the bar at. We have no problem letting that pacifier sucker stew for another two years. Having said that, I stated in the past, we need to stop drafting these US development program players. They do not have the heart of a OHL/CHL player, who are just happy to be picked.
