Thank you for not spamming the graphic. It was pretty annoying last video in the Dang It series. Appreciate the change and consideration of the fan feedback!
I tip my imaginary hat to you Sportsnet! You are one of the EXTREMELY FREAKING RARE companies that actually listened to the fans and didn't do the thing everyone complained about! Props.
*Biggest Dang-It of the past week: THE ENTIRE FRICKIN' SKILLS COMPETITION!* Three hours of my life I'll never get back. There were a few bright spots though (Ovi Jr.), but my gawd! That was just dull overall.
i think it was more of a show about how the commentators can not stop talking and keep pulling the camera away if there was anything worthwhile to see. I don't think it was meant for hockey viewers, seemed more focussed on the players and their families being together, so i am very happy for them to be able to do that. Don't think it needed to be televised.
The Joseph brothers’ double penalty and especially their folks’ reaction was priceless. Ovechkin throwing that stick across the ice like some movie prop was funny, a big no-no, but funny especially because Pasternak was laughing so much. I agree that the fastest skater thing is just tempting an accident to remove a player from regular games, but on the other hand it is one of the few skills challenges that is ya know an actual skill.
Should change it to be a bunch of stops and starts, zig zag, far from the boards. Still skill to get through the course as fast as possible... but maybe nobody will get injured
That Leon Draisaitl pass still makes no sense to me. Why didn't he shoot? No idea. Why did Karlsson start skating like he was going back to the bench during a breakaway? No idea. It genuinely felt like one of those EA NHL passes that you made 2 seconds before it happened but you couldn't back out, and the AI didn't expect the pass so it just stopped skating.
The goal against the Rangers: watch the linesmen. both were standing on either side of the blue line. The one that Igor could see was calling it an icing. The one on the other side, that Igor couldn't see waves it off at the very last second leaving Igor to have no idea he waved it off
@Angie Bee fair enough. But at the same time it should have been an icing. They got to the hash marks, at best, at the same time, I think Trouba was there first. But the puck bounced and ended up closer to Petterson who gets a lucky bounce on an off guard goalie. Still a dang it. Just my opinion on why the dang it happened
@Angie Bee watching it again though it doesn't seem like anyone gave up. Igor didn't play the puck when it bounced back because he thought it was icing. So he was trying to avoid touching it at the same time trying to get positioned. Trouba didn't stop skating because it stopped. It was just the fact Igor didn't want to touch it and Petterson had a lucky poke at it after it bounced off the boards in his favor. But in the end, still a dang-it
After sitting in several hours of phoenix open, super bowl and rush hour traffic, I couldn't be happier to watch Steve's Dang-its. The best show on the internet
Gotta love the team for taking in fan feedback. Hats off to you guys. Laugh it off, this was a good one guys. Maybe a special call back to it at the year end Dang-Its video. Thank you Producer Nick.
Husband: "Wait, what happened?" Wife: "Pavelski missed!" Husband: "Oh, he missed the pass." Wife: "Pass was fine. He missed the empty net." Husband: "No way, I need to see a replay." Narrator: They did not show a replay.
So to make the all stars more fun next year. Can we have a goal tender speed round ? Goalies in full kit doing the fastest skater circuit 😁 Pleeeeeeeaaase
I know I should no longer be surprised that the DOPS do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with stuff like this but... still, the fact that Jeff Carter hasn't gotten suspended and/or fined and the fact that the blindside hit on Makar was not called is so infuriating. The Avs and the Pens are my favorite teams, so it's always difficult to admit when someone from your team did something bad but that hit was total BS. Especially now that Cale is missing these next two games due to what we can assume was that hit. Even worse it that Sid was actually on the ice, y'know the guy who was out for over a year with concussion? That dude? AND Bowen Byram was as well, who struggled a lot last year and could barely play because of concussions. That's only skimming the surface too, it's absolutely insane that the DOPS don't do their jobs better and it's costing players. The NHL needs to do better with it. That's a Dang-It.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 I'm certain you haven't watched the replays and actually looked at all the movements. Makar literally turns and starts to skate towards the puck which is also where Carter was looking. Trust me, Carter being suspended would be a good thing for the pens and the head contact, however I'm not sure how you can suspend a player for something that another player caused.
My theory on the slam cuts was that because of the missed week, Advil wanted compensation of some sort and that was the idea that they went with. Whatever the case, yeah, glad it's gone now.
The highsticking for both brothers should be in the dangits halloffame because you can see how the ref is standing right in front if them WITH HIS BACK TO THEM. he didnt see anything but calls it anyway.
To be honest you could've used the graphic when changing from All-Star Dang-Its to regular Dang-Its but I really do prefer it this way. Use the graphic maybe once or twice a video? I wouldn't mind. As a section changer you know ^^ We love you, Nick
Strange. The footage from Bally Sports Sun, a.k.a. the Lightning broadcast, had better camera work on Vasy’s mistake. I distinctly remember watching him basically pass to the Panthers.
in the same game as the Vasilevsky dang it shout out to the dangit that was the Lightning fan that obviously wouldnt have been able to be mentioned in the video
I definitely appreciate removing the dizzying and jarring ad between every segment. Thankfully it wasn’t super flashy, but I can’t handle flashing things like that and was concerned I wouldn’t be able to watch Dang-its and Hat-picks anymore.
How do you not yet have a button you can press to show all of your past selves saying "if you're a goal tender, tend the goal" at the same time? Maybe it would really emphasize the point (and save your vocal cords). Great vid!
Imagine having two children in the NHL and they'll probably be most famous for the moment where they got high-sticking penalties on each other (while one was a bullshit call but idc it's for the meme!)
So someone who likely isn't this Nick guy made a decision to annoy the fans with those stupid graphics, and they rightfully get rid of it. But then Steve brings it up a million times and constantly shames him, who presumably if he is the editor, definitely did not make that decision. Why throw anyone under the bus and just say it was a bad idea?
Was wondering how you missed the Joesph double penalty, i wanted a dang it for the refs for the whole game cause immedately after they made another shocking call on a penalty
Fabri doesn't hit the puck a second time idk what you're seeing but his stick is above the puck. The slow mo's make it obvious. Even in real time. That's a Dang-It, Steve
Can we call the Ovi throwing the stick on a hatpick? That's the kind of stuff that actually makes the all star games enjoyable. No one wants to see big hits, no one really wants to see goalies get embarrassed, we just want to watch guys do stupid things for fun that they can't normally do. It's the same as reviewing offsides. Who cares? Take the winning team money out of it. Give them all bonuses for being there and let them have fun.
