During our NHS Road Trip we took a tour of their illustrious R&D Laboratory led by longtime skate scientist Tim Piumarta. The R&D Department is responsible for the engineering side of wheels, decks, trucks, accessories, griptape, etc. Tim and his crew put the "good" in hardgoods for all the NHS family of brands, including Santa Cruz, Flip, Creature, Ricta, Independent, MOB, Krux, OJ and more. They say that if you can measure it, you can improve it - and these guys measure EVERYTHING. Every single piece of hard skate gear that leaves their facility has been designed, engineered, manufactured, measured and thoroughly tested in the lab before being given to pro riders for the final street tests.
