Here you see the American Falls viewed from Goat Island. You only see the American Falls. The Bridal Vali Falls is behind the camera. On the other side of the Falls you see the Niagara Falls Observation Tower ant the Rainbow Bridge.
The Niagara Falls are located on the US/Canadian border between the US-State New York and the Canadian province of Ontario. The Niagara Falls are three falls of the Niagara River. The largest of the Niagara Falls is Horseshoe Falls also known as Canadian Falls. The other two Niagara Falls are the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls.
The American Falls has a straight line crest width of about 830 feet (250 m). The height of the American Falls range between 70 and 110 feet (21 - 34 m). This is the measurement from the top to the rock pile. From the top to the river, the height is 188 feet (57 m).
The average flow rate of the Niagara River is about 191,250 cu ft per second (5,400 m³ per second). The average flow rate of the three Niagara Falls is about 85,000 cu ft per second. That's about 2,400 m³ per second. The different volume is used for a channel for ships to pass the Niagara Falls. Water is also used for producing electricity and as drinking water.
