Escape with us on an epic Journey along one of North America's legendary rivers, world famous for its majestic Niagara Falls. The Niagara River is a legacy of the last ice age, dramatically carved out of the landscape 18,000 years ago. A remarkable 3/4 of North America's surface water passes through through this 58 km river making it a formidable barrier and not just because of the 68kmh rapids. These waters also serve as an international border, so for the first leg of our journey we’ll be heading out with a US Coast Guard down river from Buffalo, New York.

This river really is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever visited. Not just the falls (though they are incredible), but the also the gorge and Niagara-on-the-Lake. I hope to be able to return soon.

Captain Sam from Hornblower said "this has been here for thousands of years, unchanging." Not true! I first visited the mighty Horseshoe Falls in 1952, when I was 5 years old. The flow over the falls was double what it is now! I'm sure if the tourists dollars ever drop off, all the water will be diverted for power. That would be really sad. if you ever get the chance, see Niagara Falls. It is well worth the trip. Just stunning! Thank you for sharing this beautiful documentary.

You report 6 international bridges. I know of the Peace Bridge, the International Railroad Bridge, the Rainbow Bridge, the Whirlpool Bridge and the Lewiston Queenston Bridge. What am I missing?

I live directly on the river. Your count is correct. Don't know where they came up with six. 🤷‍♂️

Ok I am enjoying the video but the section with the whitest blonde lady in the northeast talking about her ancestors is beyond ridiculous lol

I was looking for this exact comment glad I'm not the only one. She seems to be reaching for a culture and repelled by her whiteness.

What ancestors are she referring to? As far as I know it was slaves crossing over.
