This is a love a love story. But you spoiled it by claiming that when you first arrived in America nej txom txomnyem. Guy you never understand what txomnyem was. We all came to America with nothing and were all poor. But not you, you had both parents one working hard and your mother was home taking care of the kids. Many were like me, only single mother and 6 kids. Yet I never complained about being txomnyem because it was so much better than the refugee camps. You had loving and supportive parents. You are spoiled as the last boy, who often received most of the love from everyone. So stop talking that you were txomnyem. Also you, like many Hmong kids, failed to understand old age memory lost, dementia. Your father didn't know who you were. He didn't even know where the food was. Yet as you said here, you left him alone in the house and he was so hungry. Dementia is very dangerous to be alone. In the assisted living facilities, someone is always around the dementia residents because they may leave the house and don't know where they are and who they are. If they cook, they don't remember to turn the stove off.
