I am Niamh Lynn and 'Sing Me An Old Fashioned Song' is the very first song that I ever released since I came onto the Irish country scene in 2015!! Since then, I have recorded my album 'An Old Fashioned Song' which is a collection of all my favourite Classic Country songs and am at present recording my second album due for release early next year.

I just happened to stumble upon this and happy I did... Absolutely refreshing. Her poised and angelic voice takes that country voice right back to it's country roots. Love it!!! I play this song to my husband who is living in long-term care every week when I iPad with him. It is so uplifting. He is living with vascular dementia and always moves his feet to this music. Beautiful.

Hi Ethelle, I’m so sorry to hear that your husband is suffering with this awful disease. Thank you for contacting me, this is not the first time this has been said to me. Iv had about 3 other people tell me the same thing one of which is one of my close friends who’s father has rapid dementia. He is at the point now that he knows no one, obviously this is very upsetting for my friend Joanne. She said he has almost no movement and his facial expressions have disappeared. She played him some music from her phone only a few weeks ago as she stood outside his window in the nursing home and she said when my version of “Sing Me An Old Fashioned Song” came on, she said he started to tap his fingers and his feet with the music. His facial expression changed like some part of him remembered that song. Now I don’t think for one minute that it’s me singing the song, it’s the song itself!!! It’s so weird but my friend was so happy and (sad) at the same time that her dad came back to her for that short time. Thank you again for telling me this and I hope it brings some happiness to more people in this situation. All the best to you and your husband Regards Niamh L

I grew up in an Irish section of Boston. My father worked part-time at a bar there. It was 24-7 country music. I kind of liking this Irish "country" music.

"An Old Fashioned Song" is a song I like better than the original. I love this song! It shows me that you don't necessarily have to be from the USA to be a good country. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to more. Excuse my English, I don't speak the language, it's from a translation program.

I'm 76 years old and I've been around BUT... You are the prettiest woman I have ever seen AND with the voice of an angel. I love this arrangement and you bring it life. You brought a tear to my eye. 1976. Billie Jo Spears. Two years before Niamh was born! The two songwriters, Larry Henley and Johnny Slate died just seven months apart, in 2014 and 2015, respectively. She seems to be heavily influenced by June Carter and Marsha Thornton.
