This is great! I've only listened to Willie O'Winsbury so far and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity. It's cool to hear it with a different melody, but even more importantly the lyrics provide an explicitly different slant on William's employment, to get close to the daughter!
Thanks! In these cases it's often a balance between audio quality and musical+historic interest, I think the latter wins out in this case but it's a hard call...
@@tonyrees948 All good Tony, the first time I saw Nic I was at the back of a crowded folk club in Southport, unamplified and full of beer-swilling Northerners, what eventually reached my lug-holes was probably on par with your tape, no less enjoyable though!!

Actually I find that what I have is what a friend of mine once called the "built in Dolby system in the head" which, after a bit of acclimatisation, allows me to hear though otherwise audible defects to get straight to the music and artistry. Indistinct intros can be a bit more of a problem, but with repeat listening and a bit of mental detective work they can often yield something of interest, which is why I have left them in on this tape as well...
