Nic Jones is and always will be the greatest folk singer on planet Earth - my all time music hero.

Everything good and sad in human nature is here if you look. The wisdom and weariness of Dad, but also the comfort of an old favourite seat, warmth by the fire in your local, the fierce nature of his lad. Aware Dad is no longer a God but dare you say it cos I'll knock seven bells out of you. Then Nic nails it and his boy relaxes and realises it's still his dad and he could always do it. And it's made me think of everything important in my life for just a moment. My Dad, My Son. ( and all the rest of em) And everything inbetween. Chins up all. :D Great song, thanks for posting.

What a fucking voice. As good as it gets. Remarkable man, guitarist, singer, exponent of the art. "You've been a friend to me" - That line never fails to get me.

I've literally just heard Nic Jones today for the first time. Nearly 50 and only just heard him. Incredible.

It's very hard to watch this without the emotion welling up in me. I enjoy every snippet of everything Nic has done. The two live CDs are wonderful too. It's such a pleasure to hear him singing so beautifully today. He's lost nothing of the heart of his singing. Deep joy!

It was a privilege to be in the audience on the night. I had never seen Nic in performance in the early days, and never thought that I would. To be in an audience that was emotionally charged, and to see and hear this performance, and marvel at the phrasing and delivery was quite something. Goosebump time.

Saw Nic and Joe at the Cambridge Folk Festival last night. It was really incredible, I've never heared a crowd cheer and appplaud with such genuine love for a performer.

Absolutely fantastic to see this and to hear Nic sing again after thirty years. Every festival should headline him next year. They would all sell out. Its a privileged to have all his vinyl albums right next to me.

I was working away a lot when he was on the circuit and missed him locally so I never got to see him. All my knowledge of him is from radio and recordings. Beautifully done and a big thanks to the lad on the guitar as well. A big job to carry off and he did it superbly.

If he can do one song this well he can do a CD even if it takes a year to do & we will buy it, the folk world wants this. If you read this Nic - then do it!

Amazing to see Nic after so many years, a real hero of my youth, his voice always roles back the years for me. Sadly his wonderful percussive guitar playing is confined to recordings, bless you Nic!

One of my favourite songs from the mists of time and who better to sing it. I was too young to catch him the first time round but had the pleasure of seeing him at Celtic Connections in 2013.

I saw him of old, wish I could been there that night.

I well remember going to see Nic as a frequent and much loved guest at the Hoy and Helmet Folk Club at Benfleet in Essex back in the early 1970s. Great to hear that voice again, thanks for posting.

this is beyond description... I am thinking of all the others I wish I could see from the 1960s-70s who I never got to see perform live. This must have been a very special moment for those lucky to attend. I played a lot of Nic Jones on my folk show in the early 1970's and I wasn't aware that he was performing again. @jacobsladder72 Solo, yes, I believe so. :) But there is another video where he is singing with two others in someones living room, which I believe is from somewhere in the last few years.

Oh, happy memories. Damn, he still sings well - maybe even better than before. And who needs a guitar when you have a son to play it for you?!
