@@stev5582 Seeing as Northlane plays in 4/4, just like the majority of other djent bands, I think you mean polyrythmns, not odd time signatures. Very different

I'm not a drummer, but what Nic taught me the most about drumming, is that what matters more is when you AREN'T drumming, than when you ARE. The space and vibe is entirely up to you to create, if you want it to be very crowded and claustrophobic, or open and ambient, something Northlane excels at. Truly one of the best drummers in the scene.

Hmmm. I’d put Matt garstka above for influence. Animals as leaders drumming is way too forward thinking. And if we’re looking at singularity against joy of motion (animals first album with Matt’s drums), joy is far superior in terms of drumming. No offence Nic! We’d watch you all those years ago at yo-yo’s up at frenchs forest, and back then you were on your way. I’ll never discredit you as a drummer, you’re phenomenal!
