don't stop just keep on with the passion - and don't worry about Valentines Day - just enjoy and do what you obviously enjoy - nugget hunting . Marshall
+Marshall Trickey Haha, thanks mate. I like your thinking, not sure the missus would though. But i certainly will continue to go nugget hunting. Cheers. JG
+Bec R Thanks Bec, glad you enjoyed the vid. Its always nice getting those big ones as they are quite rare these days. More to come so stay tuned. Cheers JG
Gidday J, what a beautiful nugget for the collection, you deserve every ounce and its only a matter of time until you hit that monster, keep up the great work and have a well deserved beer, cheers NM.
+TheNuggetMagnet Cheers NM. Yeah it was nice to get a bigger one... my goal nugget is 10oz and the area I'm detecting has been knows to produce a few that big so fingers crossed, but i reckon ill be at for a while. Which is a good thing :) Hows the truck? Surly its close to being ready now?
I hope you get it, maybe even bigger after hearing of a nugget of 45 kilos being found down that way, the truck is coming along well and while the front end is still off l am fixing up a few loose ends so to speak, l will do 1 more short vid when its done and put back together, should be set soon for this coming season but will be taking it for a short trip just to make sure before l take off, keep those nugs and vids coming cos they are well put together, cheers NM.
Great news. You must be hanging to get back out there. Pitty its too dam hot now! Its not too bad in the vic goldfields but we are having a few hot ones. Hopefully get out on tuesday if work don't need me. Good luck with the truck. JG
Great find... wish I had your camera skills. Found my own half ouncer a few weeks back hiding under a pile of ironstone in a well thrashed spot. Sometimes you have to check every suspect target, many would of thought it was a hot rock. Also found a nice chunk under a tree near Inglewood in VERY thrashed ground.
+ccBigKev Gday Kev. Would you believe i had the exact thing happen to me a few weeks back also. A nice deep target under a big chunk of ironstone in a well worked area, and i bet it was overlooked as a hot rock. Turned out to be a nice chunk, so stay tuned for that one. :) Its amazing where they end up. All part of the fun. Ive not yet been to inglewood so maybe its worth getting out there some time. Good luck out there mate. Cheers. JG
You may have had to work for it Jay but it was well worth it (isn't any nugget ?) That's a very nice nugget, good to see your still being rewarded for your efforts. Made me even keener to make a trip to Vic before the times comes to go north. Cheers Peter T
+peter Tee Yeah it was a challenge. But i never care because you know at the end of it all youll see a lovely piece of yellow!! Yeah you should get out again... although its hot and forecast to rain over the next week.... It may keep me at home unfortunately, but ill have a keen eye on the forecast. Keep me posted on your finds. Cheers. JG
Yeah it's strange, it may be picking up the mineralised soil. Ah well, it's still a good product. Do u know the coin trick where u hold a coin at the base of the probe and you get extra range? I've never bothered to use that method, I just keep diggin! Haha. JG
Great persistence, I bet you had a few quiet moments when the camera was off. Just wondering what settings are you running on the 7 as I noticed the you had very little threshold, are you running something like the bogenes settings. THe reason I asked I have just traded up from a 45 to the 7 and I am going thru the initial steep learning curve. All the best tryhard1968
+Mark Askham Gday Mark, im not actually sure of my settings in this vid, but i have been running a high sensitivity and low threshold lately. But i dont think it really matters with the Zed. Im not entirely convinced that changing the settings at all from factory makes any great difference. Ive found gold over a food deep using sensitivity 4 before the software upgrade. Have a play on some undug targets. Let me know, you might be able to teach me a thing or 2! haha.Best of luck and congrats on the new machine. JG
+TheBigbopster Gday, I would say that three quarters of the large nuggets i've found with the Zed could have been found with the 5000. But i reckon most of the small nuggets I've found have been been missed by the 5000. I would put most of my success down to putting the coil where others haven't. Which unfortunately means a lot of hard work sometimes. Good luck mate. JG
Gday Dean, I just use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean my gold. It just gets the dirt of them. You can use hydrochloric aid to give them a good clean of the ironstone, but i dont bother. I leave them how they came out of the ground. Cheers. JG
