FWIW, I have experienced a number of relationship endings after various durations (3 mo to 8 years). The first one ("true love" etc) broke my heart when her whole work world changed and she was "someone" now as a chartered acct articling student. But after working through that one, I have learned to just be present and enjoy each relationship for what it can be (I always try to build them or "dance" with them, as you say) for as long as it can be. So, I haven't grieved (ie, destroyed my life, depression, etc) over an ending/ended relationship for many decades. I can always and easily be grateful for the good times until the ending came. Each R is like a chapter in the book of my life. I don't begrudge the ending of the chapter and am always grateful for the content of the chapter. Thank you for your work.

I started this journey to fix things with my wife but the more I absorb this new knowledge I realize it's about clearing away all the hurdles in my life that hold me back. I never thought I would be grateful for pain but here we are. The best fuel for self improvement.

If you are attached, you will suffer. Bitter or better. Relationships are dances not contentions. It’s easier to die than watch someone die. At some point, you have to want to do the work. I’m going to be pissed off as long as I need to be pissed off. Anytime there’s an over-reaction, there is an old wound. When you get to a place you are grateful for your ex, your work is done. Forgiveness is when you can say thank you for the experience. An undeniable body of work affirms our confidence more than wishes. Glover lives in Puerto Vallarta. Wise. You have to reveal things that you don’t want anyone to know. Thank you bros.

Excellent conversation. I love Dr’s words on second order - higher level consciousness, honesty and making ones needs a priority. Definitely rewatching several times.

Right of the bat, he talks about ancestoral trauma. It's real and I have done some healing with Teal. Then he mentioned raising consciousness...gold. entire podcast is priceless

Josh, please release your standup routine to us. I love comedy. It’s the best medicine. I’m watching Quinn Dahle - funny as sh*t.

☯️ totally committed and at the same time completely not attached. You can be an explorer but not a seeker. This is freedom, to be OK with what IS . To accept your past as what has happened, to see the future as pure possibility and to be in the NOW curious like a child about your surroundings.

OMG yes! The point made ending at 5:29 is what I needed to hear. Fucking awesome. I have a bad relationship with my mom. I’m 42. My grandpa wasn’t there for my dad, so my dad became the best dad actually. My mom and other moms became tyrants of the house. Great insight thanks.

Being ok with multiple outcomes and open minded about the future doesn't have to be in conflict with being "attached". FFS, I'm attached to my kids. I'm attached to my loved ones. I have preferences. There's a short hop from "don't become attached" to "don't commit to important things", for those so inclined. Being able to pick up what *IS* available to you when your initial preferences *isn't* available is an important life skill, but I think it's f***ing ridiculous new-age therapy BS to talk about not becoming "attached" as a way of avoiding pain. I think I first read in a Thich Nhat Hanh book the idea of that you need to be careful when picking up these philosophies - they're like grabbing on to a serpent - if you grab the wrong end, it can turn out badly.

100%. The further a therapist gets from God, the more they think they're their own God. Josh is getting further and further away from his Christian core and it's showing. He's become enamored with false idols.

You can definitely commit to something without attaching yourself to it. Your children are probably committed to you in love, but would you want them so attached to you that their lives fall apart and they are left devastated, depressed and desperate when you're gone? And vice versa. In western society they teach you to attach yourself to XYZ if you want to prove seriousness or commitment...which is a form of emotional and mental slavery and worse. Non-attachment isn't non-love or non-commitment. Totally different things.

@@sunset33533 In theory they are different, but in practice, and in explanation by pseudo-therapists like Glover, the concept is utterly confused. Not to play word games, but the simple word "attachment" needs to be changed to something else that implies an unhealthy reliance on specific outcomes to the point where your own identity is at risk. There are quite a few people who rely on "non-attachment" as an excuse to not commit themselves to anything - all to avoid pain. Seems to me that's a great formula for an ultimately unfulfilling and quite lonely existence.

It's not the nice guy habits that make her leave, it's not being the bad boy.. Nice guys and good men have limits as to how badly they'll treat a woman and she'll keep pushing men until she finds one that doesn't hold back or will simply drop her because he has different options.

Hey Don…grow a pair would ya! 😂 if you are serious then who are you to judge what words people use. Are you the gatekeeper of the standard way to communicate to one another? Don’t be judgmental as you’re trying to proclaim an image based on lies…maybe.

I just feel all the cursing is a turn-off and makes this guy seem less credible because he has less class and dignity. His words would carry more weight if they didn't include the vile, caveman, ignorant , language and attitude. That's MY thought.

I respect your opinion as your opinion. My issue is that you are judging people based on the words they use that you don’t like, and saying that he is less credible because of it. To me that sounds so superficial rather than reality. I prefer to hear people, in every aspect of my life, speak true to themselves…no matter what the outcome.
