We joke and laugh, and most of the time, it's rightfully deserved, but that overtake on Raikkonen and Russell is actually really impressive imo. Great move from the GOAT. Edit: The GOAT powered up from 3 to 4% today, putting in a masterful drive from back of the grid to the points. What a tour de force from the greatest talent to ever grace a Formula 1 grid.
the transition at 0:32 literally made me shed a tear. don't even know the guy... but i feel extremely lucky to watch every single race Latifi raced in. what a season 2021 was, and Latifi made it the most memorable F1 finish, probably until the day I die. Beyond thankful.
Fun fact: Nicholas Latifi and Lewis Hamilton together have more championships than Nico Rosberg, Kimi Räikkönen, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button combined
We laugh and now it’s desrved but I remember times back in 2017 in F2 even drivers like leclerc and norris had problems to beat him or even handle him sometimes.. he was really great driver

Yeah, and in 2019 he finished 2nd in F2, i remember him being quite solid in that category, just didn't work out at all after that
He was solid because it was his 4th season in F2. There aren't many drivers that are able to finance 4 complete season in this category, and experience really matters. And I believe it was his first year beating his teammate (barely). He never was a great driver. A good, yeah, better than me, obviously, but never great. Nice guy, though
Shall we have a toast for our majesty, King GOATIFI. He will be remembered and immortalized in F1 history. We peasants should be grateful for witnessing such fascinating era. Farewell to our highness, King GOATIFI. 👑🐐
I still remember him driving P3 for half the race last year in Hungary. Who actually got past him did so by strategy. And in Monza bad strategy let him down when we was beating Russell over the whole weekend. If only he could replicate half of that this season he might have been in for a year more. And if he ever took responsability, that would have helped, too. I've always supported him but there have been times I only wished he said "my bad". He pretty much never did, though. That's the only bad thing I have to say
Honestly he was an okay dirver(not good but also not bad driver), give him a midfield car (like Alfa Romeo or Alpine) and I'm sure he will be a regular point scorer plus some lucky podiums
@@ftheweebs6799 yes the days it mattered he never threw it away unlike Russell (Hockenheim '19, Mugello '20, Imola '20, Imola '21) so I could totally see him scoring one or two podiums in midfield car because of lucky circumstances. I think if everything went smoothly for him he could establish himself as a Stroll-like kind of driver. Decent overall, though some days he's nowhere, some others he's inspired, but when he gets the opportunity he doesn't waste it.
I love new age f1 fans lol thinking this guy is particularly bad. I grew up in an era where Deletraz crawled around the track; Lavaggi got his debut at cash-strapped Pacific well into his thirties; Taki Inoue had run ins with a medical car and Pedro Diniz went from basement team to basement team with daddy's millions
I have nothing against Latifi. The guy tried his best to make it big in F1. Just didn't work out. He could do quite well somewhere else. F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport. Not everyone makes it big here.
