Thanks for showing us this procedure. It teaches us that we can be as loose as we want and then bring it back some.

I love seeing your process and especially the image of the naval flag that came to you--seems fitting.

It would make me sweat bullets to change things as bravely as you do, Nick. I love also that you set a timer. Under pressure. (Bowie is playing in my head). lol.

Nice. I just return to minute 15 that I liked it. And comparing with minute 44 that is richer and nicer and more finished . Now I understand why you kept going How to know that. ? What expect in the future. ? I thing we have to train our eyes until our soul is happy. Congratulations nice work I learn a lot in this video

Gotta laugh.. after sharing a small piece on Instagram that I thought I'd finished, I then wrecked it. 3 days later I got a commission enquiry on the pre-wrecked version. Oops!! Oh well, I can use the photos to re-create a new one 🤣 Leanne @ Brisbane, Australia

I love watching you paint but sometimes I want to say oh no Nick ..I like that grey block of color...go someplace else, yet I know that you will eventually make it come together. You are a blessing to the art world.

Too funny! I take pictures of paintings and then wreck them and sometimes go back and look at the pictures and think WOW, I like that one! Oops, it's gone now!!

Really let loose and enjoyed the design live session. Question: I think design is similar to composition. What do you think?

Thank you for your videos. So helpful. What is the other acrylic stick/marker other than Posca that you mentioned but the name escaped you during the video? Thank you!

This control and letting go is so challenging. I lovet minut 15 -16 then I lovet again minute 44. How do yo recover after loosing and winning? Amazing practice in 30 min and I love the layers. Incredible organized and solution in the end.

When you say your paintings flake and peel because of the way you paint sometimes lean over fat or acrylic over oil, how to you stabilise the painting to sell it, do you use a solvent varnish over the entire painting at the end after it has fully cured? I love mixed media, but don’t like the thought of the paint surface being unstable and the buyer smudging it or getting paint on their hands etc when moving the work.

I'm trying to get the hang of this kind of work and 9 times out of 10 it ends up as mud. Do you decide your color palette before you start a new project or just figure it out as you go??

are those white and grey (on the stepladder) buckets of oil paint -- or acrylic paint? if oil - is it oi-based housepaint? if not, where do you get buckets of drippy oil paint - i didn't know that viscosity of oil paint existed, all i know about are the small tubes of thick viscosity...

I really enjoying watching this process! What is the solution in the bottle you are using over the R&F pigment sticks to make them perform more like paint?

Those oil pastels drive me nuts with desire. I live in a place where there is no handy store to look and see.

You were talking about juxtaposing elements together that were a different size, yet this painting, it feels like all the little boxes are roughly the same size. I can see why you aren't happy with this, it just looks like kind of a wash. Almost just a background layer to put something on top of.

There are two terms: Guys and Gals. I wonder why the word 'guys' has been adopted to include both genders. Why not 'gals' ? Why are males bothered when addressed as 'gals' but females are assumed not to be bothered when addressed as 'guys' ? Why are women allowed to dress like men, but men cannot dress like women ? Why can women adopt men's names but men can't adopt women's names? The answer is that there is a higher societal value to being male than there is to being female. Sexism. Folks is better.
